All trainees/ foundation doctors/ medical students asked to prepare both academic and clinical work for next year’sjunior awards, closing date for abstract submissions will be 31st July 2026. 9.Mrs Jayshree Menonis retiring as President, becoming President Ex Officio on Council withMr Shabbir Mohamedtaking over the Presidency, President Elect will beMr Salman Mirza. MOS Council thanksProf Yit Yangfor three years of service to the Society on the Council. 10.Eventbritehas now been used for 18x meeting registrations. It is not possible to automatically stop members from registering more than once. 11.DNA rates continueto be high, 71 over last 3 meetings, costing £4438. 12.Day of week for regional meetingschanged this year to rotating weekdays, having previously been only Fridays. No negative impact on attending numbers has been seen. 13.Eye Newswelcome reports of past MOS meetings for their News Round section of the journal. Significant reserves are held at the end of the financial year due to the cost savings encountered as AV support has been provided by the MOS committee, many speakers not claimed expenses, subscription revenue has increased, high sponsorship income, venue costs less than anticipated.

Respectlve responslblllties of the Trustees and Independent Examlner The charitvs trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not qUIred for this year under Section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 Ithe Charities Act) that an independent examination Is needed. It is my spOnsibl11ty to examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 14515llbl of the Charities Act, and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of Independent Examlnerfs Statement My examination was carried out in accordan with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a "true and faiff, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. Independent Examinerfs statement In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention, other than that disclosed on the following page, which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect: accounting fecords were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act or the actounts do not accord with the accounting records I have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
