Activities
Support group for people who have or are about to have their colon removed and an ileostomy or internal pouch formed. We issue a quarterly local newsletter which we send out along with the national quarterly journal of IA. Our main event is our AGM but we promote and advertise meetings at the hospitals in our area which are social events for our members, too.
Objects: A. To Help Anyone Living In The West Hants, Wilts And Dorset Area And Elsewhere Whose Colon Has Been Or Is About To Be Removed By Surgical Procedureor Who Has Had An Ileostomy. B. To Promote And Co-Ordinate Research Into Bowel Disease And Other Conditions Leading To The Removal Of The Colon Surgical Procedures Pertaining Therto And Related Matters And Further To Promote The Dissemination Of Knowledge Gained By Such Research. C. To Keep Ileostomists And Others Informed Of All Matters Of Interest To The Association By The Periodic Dissemination Of Information By Arranging Conferences Seminars And Courses On Topics Of Interest And In Any Other Manner Which Is Charitable And Which The Trustees Consider Appropiate.
