The purpose of the Church is to maintain and spread the tNth ￿ set forth in the Bible and in Science & He•lth
with Key to the kriplures by Mary Baker Eddy.

Review
The Church Cothinued to hold regular Sunday servi¢es and Wednesday t¢$timony meeting4 in person and
onlin¢, as well as maintsining a Reading Room and Sunday School.
The Little Sparkles pre-school h&q now been operating for almost nine years ￿]ng the ground floor and
garden while the car park and oth¢r rooms have Ften used by families and community groups.

Christian Science and the location and activities of our Church and Reading Room. This is compl¢tnented by
ow FA¢ebook page.
The Church SI￿nSored two public lectures, 'The Blessing of Giving Freely, by Melanie Wahlberg, given
online on 25 December 2023, and an in-person lecture in church on 21 January 2024 by Allison Hughes,
entitled'A Lasting Healing Solution to Hopeles5ness'.
Our charitable giving in¢luded a regular contribution to the Joint C S Online Reading Room and 8ift¢d
literdture.
Dcial Positioll
The Receipts & Payments account on page 3 shows a reduced operating deficit for the year of £5324
compared to £10754 in 2023. Overall income fell slightly, mainly due io a £5k dr(>p in lettings. On the other
hand, overheads were generally lower- the exception ￿ing heating costs which were some £4k higher.
£50k was placcd with Quilter and invested in ethical equities.
Re5eTves Policy
Following the above invesknenL liquid reserves fell from £114k to £58514 as at June 2024. but this is still
considered adequate to me¢t both present commitments and the cost of maintaining the Church and Reading
Room for the foreseeable future.
