SIGNIFICANT INFORMATION
The Church has been a recognised branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts since 1 1" August 1933 and established under a Constitution & Rules. The title to the Church property is now vested with the Official Custodian for Charities.

REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD & TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 307 JUNE 2022
Mission Statement The purpose of the Church is to maintain and spread the truth as set forth in the Bible and in Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.

Review
The church was pleased to return to holding normal services and Sunday School as from July 2021. We extended our online access to include in-person services and meetings. The resumption of the use of our building by others has not only benefitted church finances but increased our visibility and value to the community. We have also updated our website and made minor alterations to our rules. In June 2022 the church sponsored a well-received public lecture by Phillip Hockley, entitled ‘A new view of God & its effect on well-being’. Our charitable giving included a contribution to the Focus Committee for the Summit meeting sponsored by The Mother Church due to be held in October 2022.
Financial Position
The Receipts & Payments account on page 3 shows an operating deficit for the year of £3243 compared to a surplus of £11760 in 2021. This was mainly due to a £4k fall in overall income combined with three major expense items which have been highlighted.
Reserves Policy
As a result, liquid reserves fell from £118k to £114597 as at 30" June 2022 but remain ample to meet both present commitments and the cost of maintaining the Church and Reading Room for the foreseeable future.
