ObJ•ctlves and Aclfvltlos
The Charity aims to assist both those looking for a better job and also unemployed residents
of the Wokingham and Bracknell Town areas, to gain employment through the sup8rvi88d
provision of services and facilities not otherwise provided by the Employment SeNi¢e.
Job seekers are offered a blend of support. including: assessment, coaching, advl¢e, support

Authority currently with rirca 171,000 inhabrtants with an expeded populalion of over 192.000

The Trustees are responsible l)oth for overseeing the strategic direction of th8 Charity and for
the management of Ihe organisation and trained volunteers who provide the interface with the

volunteers are not remunerated for their work,. they are however, entitled to reimbursement of
expenses incurred when undertaking Charity business.
Achi•v•ments and Perfomianco
The Tru8tees hav8 had regard to the Charty Commi88ioners' guidance on public benefit and
consider that the Charity provides identifiable benefrts to those seeking employment in the
Wokingham and Bracknell Forest areas. Dunng the year to 31st March 2022 there were 101
new clients, making, in total, 270 Client visrts. Clients were able to take advantage of advice,
coaching, training and counselling by trained volunteers and to use the Charity's facilities and
technology to identfy and pursue employment opportunrties.
This financial year has again been severely affected by the Covid 19 virus bul the service
continued and we saw an increase in new clierrts and their visits to the Centre over the previous
year. As the economy has been hard hit and employment adversely impacted, the Trustees
believe that ther8 will be an increased need for this important community Servi￿ now fudough

TRUSTEES. ANNUAL REPORT
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 318T MARCH 2022 {conL)
Over the last 30 years the Charrty has helped more than 11,000 local job seekers back into
work. Supporting local residents back into wot* has a major benefit to the local economy, a
significant impact on communty cohesion and reduces the costs of Benefits, Social Service$,
the NHS and Policing and hugely improve8 the household finances, heatth and v￿lIbeing of
each Job seeker and their families.
Flnancial Revl•w
The Chanty continue8 to try to dosely balance income and expenditure such that our finances
remain both strong and roughly in equilibrlum. We have successfully continued our policy of
both prudence and frugality.
The Charty has relied solely UF)on local councils for grants in this year. Total of all grants
amounted to £26,250 (2021 £25,683) in the year, to fund the continuation of its activities.
Income from all sources including bank interest was £26,5￿ (2021- £26,255) and expenses
of £27,78812021- £25,212) were incurred reSu￿1n9 in a loss for the year of £1,178 (2021 +
£1,043).
Given current pressure and uncertainty surrounding local govemment finances the Truslees
believe that rt is appropriate for the Charity to hold eighteen months running expenses in
reseNes', this was achieved at 31st March 2022 vthen unrestncted reserves, which mainly
comprise cash balan¢e$, were £55,210 (2021- £56.388).
As the Charty provides a vltal arKI un￿u8 communty service the Trustee8 8eek to hold
sufficient reserves to run the Centre for eighteen months, so that there is sufficient time to
explore options and altematives, rf revenues were to be severely reduced. Howevor, at this
'me, th¢ Trustees are confident of the Continuing 8UPPQrt of local Council donors.
The Trustees are al80 aware of the risk to the Charity's funds from fraudulent misappropriation
and in order to minimise this risk financial control and authorisation procedures are operated
and the Trustees receive regular summarised financial infomation.
