**Objects:** 1) TO SECURE THE FULLEST ENJOYMENT AND APPRECIATION BY THE PUBLIC OF COMMON LAND, PUBLIC OPEN SPACES AND PARKS IN AND AROUND SOUTHAMPTON AND THEIR PROTECTION FROM ENCROACHMENTS OR ANY DAMAGING ACTIVITY. 2) TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY OVER FOOTPATHS, TOWPATHS, BRIDLEWAYS, DRIFTWAYS AND HIGHROADS. 3) TO SECURE WHERE POSSIBLE THE CREATION OF NEW PUBLIC PATHS AND RIGHTS OF WAY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC AND TO ALLOW ACCESS TO THE COUNTRYSIDE AND SEASHORE. 4) TO ENCOURAGE THE PLANTING AND THE PRESERVATION OF TREES IN AND AROUND SOUTHAMPTON.

**Activities:** We organise walks in the City, in particular in areas that may find themselves under threat from development and monitor planning applications that may affect our parks and open spaces. We issue two Newsletters and attend events in the City to promote our organisation.
