The objects of the charity are to hold the capital and income of the Trust Fund upon trust and to apply the income and all or part of the capital towards charitable purposes for the public benefit, making donats-ons to charitable institutions at such times and in such manner as the trustee5 think frt. The trustees have had due regard for the Charities Commission public benefrt guidance when exercising their powers and duties. The charity has no paid staff and is administered by the trustees. During the year the charity made donations of £22.500. These donations were made out of net income for the year of £32,367, leaving a surplus in receipts over payments of £9,867. There was a profrt on disposal of investments of £37,652 leading to an increase in the Trust fund of £47,519 in the year when valuing investments at cost. On a current value basis the value of the Fund increased in the year by £42,888 to £692,681. The fund proved to be very resilient in the face of difficult market conditions in the last quarter.. D.A. THE D A YARDY CHARITABLE TRUST Indepèndent Examiner's Report to the Trustses I report on the accounts of the The Dennis Alan Yardy Charitable Trust for the year ended 5 April 2022, which are set out on pages 1 to 4. The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to.. examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5}{b) of the Charities Act, and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. My examination was (2rried out in accordan with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The prOdureS undertaken do not provide all the eviden that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: (1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accounting records in accordan with section 130 of the Charities Act,. and to prepare accounts which accord wtth the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met. or {2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be dravm in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
