## **Annual Trustees Report 2021-2022** 

## Blofeld Pre School Playgroup 

Blofield Pre School Playgroup is held in the local village hall. We operated as a four day preschool, term time only, on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We are responsible for the care and learning of 52 children aged between 2 and 4 years. We operate under the guidance of Ofsted and work within the Early Years Framework. 

We employ a full-time manager who is supported by a deputy, and we have an additional 6 childcare practitioners (a combination of full and part time staff). We also employ an administrator. We have staff qualified from a level 2 up to a teacher status. 

We have continued with our annual parents evenings and parent/carer coffee mornings to allow parents to get an insight into their children’s early years and offer an open platform for any questions to be asked. These are well received, and we will continue with these in the future. 

The income for the setting is from the Nursery Education Grant, Childcare vouchers, parental fees and fundraising. The impact of Covid has been significant to us in the loss of parent fees and the loss of fundraising income. We have still managed a few fundraising activities this year which have included two quiz nights, the smartie tube challenge, a pick a square for a pound game for the children to win a book and Christmas cards. All of which were shown amazing support from the local community. 

We believe we are a modern preschool offering a wide range of toys and equipment with full access to the Early Years Foundation stage curriculum. Our team are highly motivated to nurture each individual child and prepare them for their next step of starting school. Strong links are forged within the community, with the children meeting local emergency services, visiting the village post office, library and we have strong links with the village Primary school. 

As trustees we are committed to providing excellent standards of care and education to our children. We continue to support staff development and training and we work closely with our families, enabling us to offer the children a good start and help individuals grow and develop into confident learners whilst they are in our setting.

Independent Examiner's Report on the Accounts of Blofield Pre School Playgroup
Report to the trustees of Blofield Pre School Playgroup (Charity No. 1039666) on the accounts
for the year ended 31 March 2022.
Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Exydminer
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees
consider that an audit is not requtred for this year under Section 144 of the Charities Act 2011
and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to..
Examine the accounts under Section 145 of the Charities Act.
To follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charities
Commission under Section 145 of the Charities act, and
To sta* whether panicular matters have come lo my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner's Ststement
My examination was carried out in accordance with general directions gtven by the Charities
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity
and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of
any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from th¢ trust¢es
concernkng any such matters. Th¢ procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that
would b¢ required in an audit. and consequenily no opinion is given &s to whether the accounts
present a 'true and fair, view and the rep)rt is limited to those matters set out in the statement
below.

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention which:
Gives my reasonable cause to believe that any material respect, the requirements to
keep accounting records and prepare accounts in accordance with the accounting
r¢quir¢ments of th¢ Charities Act.
