Objettives and activities
To enhance the devek)pment and education of children under statutory
school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide forthe
needs of their children throu8h community groups.
Surnmary of the objects of the
Penenden Heath Pre-school is a community Pre-school offering early
years ￿Te and development for children from two and a half years to
school age. We belon8 to the Early Years Alliance and we adhere to its
philosophy and aims.
The Pr&Sthool is owned and run by a committee of parents of children
attending the group. The Committee employs trained staff who are
responsible forthe day-to-day running of the Pr&School in line with The
Early Years Foundation Stage. The staff receive regular training to keep
abreast of Pre-school practices and policy changes.

We offer morning and afternoon educational sessions (each 5ession15 3
hour51 every week day and at the beginning of the afternoon session the
children sit down together in small groups and have a packed lunth.
In addition to our regularsessions the staff and committee organise
Christmas and summer parties forthe thildreD. Also a Christmas
perfomiance is presented to parentslcarers and children who are leaving
to go on to Primarysthool are tsken on an outing.

Achievements and perlorniance
The Pr&5th001 has a very active cornmittee who organise fundraising
events throughout the year. Some of our fundraising events were
deferred due to Covid-19, however we held a very successful lights trail
at Christmas, a sponsored scavenger hunt and summer fair. We have
been able to offerthe children the opportunity to attend parties and
trips.

The sucress of the fundraising has enabled the Prtrsthool to purthase
new equipment We have invested in new sensory equipment to SUPPOrt
all of the children, invited Mini Professors to join us for several sessions
doing experiments with the children. In additK)n we have had sessions
with RugbyTots, Dance ¥1sits and a therapy dog.
We were successfully awarded a grant supporting children with mixing
and getting back to their pre-covid INe& We offered 4 sessions at Little
Street role pay centre for the children.
The Pr&Sthool garden continues to be enjoyed by the children on a daily
basis. whateverthe weather.

Financial review
Reserves are held to meet potential redundancy obligations, to 5UStain
the Pr&School if income falls below expected levels and for forthcoming
maintenance projects e.& the Pre•School garden. We have a Reserves
Policy which detsils what reserves are held by the Pre-school.
