## **TRUSTEES REPORT – TREASURER 2021/22**

## **THE HEADLINES**

Excluding fundraising, our income this year is £ **159,613.50** compared to last years’ income of £149,629.31.

Our expenses were **£146,530.01** , compared to last years’ expenses of £134,776.84.

This gives a surplus for 2021/22 of **£14,193.76** as compared to £15,013.47. As always, our aim is not to make a profit but to balance the income and expenditure to provide a secure future for the playgroup.

The reserve account stands at £89,088.38 as of 28[th] October 2022.

## **STAFF COSTS**

The long anticipated national minimum wage increase came into force on 1[st] April 2022. Along with the rise to the staff on the bands affected, we were also able to implement pay rises across all 6 pay bands.

## **HOURLY RATES**

The hourly rate for fees increased from £5.50 to £5.75.

## **RENT**

In the Autumn Term, The Church Hall rent of £9.10 an hour was temporarily lowered to £7.28 due to damage to fire doors, meaning the Classroom was unavailable for use. However, once resolved the rent returned to £9.10 per hour. In January this was increased to £10 per hour.

## **FUNDRAISING**

The effects and uncertainty of Covid remained into the Autumn Term. We were unable to hold the usual Christmas Fair.

Christmas Raffle £549 Summer Fair £1117 Other fundraising £851.23 (Scavenger Hunt) Amazon Smile £63.64 With a grand total of £2581.27

The money raised from fundraising directly benefits the children in the form of new play equipment, interior and exterior improvements, new technology and new experiences so a big thank you goes to the fundraising team (committee and staff) and, as always, to the parents and local supporters.

A full calendar of fundraising events should be possible this year but this might be tempered by the Cost of Living Crisis.

The full accounts are available to review on request.

This concludes my report.
