THE ANNUAL REPORT 2022/2023 THE SHEPSHED GLENMORE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION GLENMORE COMMUNITY CENTRE THORPE ROAD SHEPSHED LEICESTERSHIRE LE12 9LU TEL: (01509) 650662 E-MAIL: glenmorecentre@btconnect.com Registered Charity No: 1039294 MISSION STATEMENT The Shepshed Glenmore Community Association is committed to improve the quality of life in Shepshed and the surrounding district and to promoting the use of the Glenmore Centre and its facilities for the benefit of all local inhabitants. The Association will work with individuals, families, local groups and organisations in a common effort to assess and meet the needs of the local community and develop the resources necessary to meet those needs. The Association will work to develop opportunities through educational, social, cultural, leisure and recreational activities to enable people to develop personally and to play an active part in their community. We do this in a non-profit way as a registered charity. The Association is committed to the protection of equality and the elimination of discrimination. The Chairperson's Report 2023 The year has again seen the centre being well used including the Christmas Lunch and the Easter play scheme. Being now regular successful events. I pass on the thanks of the General Committee to the volunteers, without whom these events would not happen. The running cost of using the centre has increased this year. For the first time in a number of years, which is affecting everybody. Some of the groups have changed, as we normally see during the year. I pass on the thanks of the General Committee to Victoria Jacques Centre Manager. My thanks to the General Committee and all those who have helped during this again challenging time. Thanks to the Shepshed Town Council for the annual maintenance grant. To Bernadette Blood our thanks for her work and assistance in book keepin8 etc., these past years and wishing her an enjoyable retirement. Once again we are looking forward to a less stressful and successful year. We must remember there is need to take care and stay safe. Remember Covid has not gone away. Chris Walker Choir.
