Structure and details

Dyslexia Trust has a small number of dedicated trustees who either work or have an interest in supporting children and young adults with dyslexia and other connected disabilities.

Activities and Objectives

The objectives of the Dyslexia Trust is to relieve the suffering of persons who are dyslexic or who suffer from any similar or connected disability, in particular by the provision of financial and other assistance to those persons who are in need, hardship or distress.

Dyslexia Trust continues to help dyslexic children and adults in financial need achieve their full potential in education, employment, and the community by giving them access to specialist assessment, learning and support services. To fulfil this commitment, we continued to support specialist tuition places at Bristol Dyslexia Centre.

The trust aims to promote the advancement of education of the public by carrying out research into Dyslexia and the needs of those who suffer from it and publishing the results thereof.

Free telephone advice was given to over 1,500 people during the year.

Achievement and Performance , including reporting on its public benefit

Through a generous large donation from former trustee John Newman we were able to create a dedicated Occupational Therapy (OT) room with provision of new OT equipment on the new Belgrave School site.

We continued to provide bursaries to children to attend lessons at Bristol Dyslexia Centre.

We are very grateful for the many letters from past students and parents who have benefited from support, and it is rewarding to hear the successes and achievements of our students.
