We share good practice with and offer advice to other early years settings.
We support other charities and Early Years settings by sharing donated items given to us that we may not need.
We support local businesses by hiring their services when needed (sign maker/carpet shop/Lion Learners).
We sign post parents/carers to other organisations and professionals as and when needed and offer support throughout the process if requested/required. We offer advice and support to parents/carers and the children’s wider family. We work with other professionals as and when needed.
All staff are in contact with their key work children’s parents/carers each day the staff member works, sharing information, offering advice and suggesting activities for the children to do at home.
Our staff have over 20 years experience.
We send out regular newsletters to parents/carers offering advice and information which is pertinent to the children who attend and their families.
We develop communication with the schools that our children will move on to.
Finances
Newton Nursery increased the fees to £18 per 3-hour session in 2023, this was below the average being charged by similar settings in the area. This was needed due to the increase in the minimum wage, the increase in the lettings fee for the room we use in school, increased cost of insurance and the increase in daily running costs. Fees are reviewed annually. Although all staff undertook a cut in their working hours, we continued to maintain and follow the Government Guidelines with regards to ratios.
The insurance costs increased due to the company’s annual increase. The attached financial statement shows our current state of finances. Due to the decision to reduce financial pressure on our families, we have not held any events to raise further funds.
The Charity’s funds are held at The Co-operative Bank, PO box 250, Delf House, Southway, Skelmersdale, WN8 6WT
Our accounts were audited by Denise Tideswell of 26 Ferndown Drive, Tibshelf, Derbyshire, DE55 5LE
