ESSEX") 2.TO PROMOTE STUDY AND RESEARCH IN THE HISTORY OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX PROVIDED THAT THE RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH SHALL BE PUBLISHED 3.TO PROMOTE OR DEVELOP FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC HISTORY AND HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE 4.TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN HISTORY 5.TO PLAN AND OVERSEE ANY ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO ACHIEVE THE PRECEDING OBJECTS AND DO ALL SUCH OTHER LAWFUL THINGS AS ARE NECESSARY FOR THE ATTAINMENT OF THE SAID OBJECTS.

**Activities:** To increase public awareness of history in Essex and in particular of the existence and activities of the Victoria County History of Essex; and to raise funds to support the research and writing of the VCH Essex.
