ob ectives and aetivities of the Trnst
The Charitable Trust was established on l July 1993 to operate the charitable activities of
the Rotary Club of Nails¢a and Backwell.
The Trust Deed gives the trustees the power to apply tbe funds in such manner as they
tkn'nk fit to 01 for the relief of the poor and needy or to or fo[ such other charitable
putpose. institution. Society or objective as the Club shall in duly constituted meetings
from time to time direct.
The Club identifies each year som¢ specific Charities and projects which it wishes to
support and raises funds specifIcally for these, and these aTe reported as Restiicted
activities.
The Club also undertakes charitable fiwd raising activities to enable other grants and
payments to be made and these are decided by the Club Council as and when requests for
assistance are rrteived.

The trust deed provides for 4 trustee4 being the l¥esideDL Vice President , Secretary and
Treasurer of the Rotary Club.
The treasurer is resw)nsible for the induction of new trustees which involves awareness
of a trustee's res￿nsibIlitieS, the governing document and administrative procedures.
No specific risks have been identified following the annual review of risks.
Public benefit
In planning our activities and making decisions on grants throughout the year we have
kept In mind the Charity Commission"s guidance on public benefit.
The focus of our grants remains on providing fimds to chartties operating for the benefit
of people in North Somersei and neighbouring Ioc21ities re health and welfare; assisting
young people in educational and self development activities and in path'cular individuals
who may not have the financial means to undertake such activities" providing fuwicial
assistance to victims of humanitarian disasters.

local ch8Tities the opportunity to raise fiuRds by particIpating in this event.

Restricted activities. A Charity Walk facilitated a wide range of fundraismg for many
local charities and Rotary projects - in totaI over £20.000.

Disaster Appeals also youth and coallnunity needs. Unrestricted Fund cash bajallcc was

minimizing any Anvestrnenl nsk. The club tsrgets to hold a rninimum cash reserve of

There is continuing focus on belp and SUPFM)rt in the comtnunity- particularly youth
related. The Club will continue to supwrt Rotary Foundation.
Future PlaDs
There is increasing frKus on help and supwrt in the community- particularly youth
related. The Club will continue to support Ro￿Y Foundaiion. However the restrictions
imposed on the community because of the Corona pandemic have significantly reduced
our charitable and fUnd￿Ing activities

43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act) and thal an indep¢ndent examinknon is needed.

Commission ( under s¢ction 43(7Xb) of the Act ). and

Basis of the independent examiner's report
My examination was ¢aTried out in accordance with the GeneTal Directions given by the
Charity Cotnmissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept
by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also
includes consideration of any unusual items or di￿loSu￿S in the accounts. and seeking
explanations from you as truslees conceTning any such tnatters. The w(Kedures
undertaken do not provlde all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and
Collsequentiy I do not exp￿$$ an audit opinion on th¢ view given by the a¢¢ounts.
