Trustees Annual Report:

We are a member of the Early Years Alliance and follow their constitution. All parents are invited to our AGM and can be voted onto the committee as a Trustee if they so wish. A minimum of 2 meetings are held each year.

Update of year for April 2023 – March 2024

Activities:

April 2023 Our themes – Insects & Mini Beasts, People who help us.

May 2023 We were closed on 8[th] May – Bank Holiday for the Coronation of King Charles. We celebrated in Pre-School by holding a party ‘red, white and blue themed’.

June 2023 Our themes – Pirates/Under the Sea, Getting Ready for School. We were visited by school reception teachers from local primary schools. We started a ‘Balance ability’ course for our children- 1 session per week for the half term, learning new skills and developing confidence with riding ‘balance bikes’, children were provided with bikes and helmets and led by an instructor. Staff completed transition paperwork for our leavers. 2 members of staff completed Wellcomm training (speech & language). Parents brought children in for visits in preparation for starting Pre-School in September.

July 2023 Our photographer came in form ‘Tiny Pixels’ to take group and graduation pictures (fundraiser). We held a ‘Stay and Play’ session for new starters and parents. We held our Summer party for all our children.

Aug 2023 Cleaning, organising/planning in all areas took place over the summer break.

Sept 2023 Our themes – Settling In/All About Me. Total of 23 children on our Autumn register. Sports and dance sessions have continued each week. Parents/families collected donations for the church Harvest festival. Parents/families supported the MacMillan Big Coffee Day.

Oct 2023 We celebrated Halloween. We had 1 week half term holiday. Our Deputy Manager left to start a new job after being with us for 8 years.

Nov 2023 Christmas fair took place in the Church of the Epiphany, our parents/families donated towards the hamper raffle prize.

Dec 2023 Our themes- Julia Donaldson and Traditional Tales. Our Nativity took place in Church. Christmas party took place- bouncy castle, soft play, party food, visit from Father Christmas, presents and party boxes for all children. A new member of staff started with us.

Jan 2024 Our themes- All Around the World, Bears. We celebrated Chinese new Year. We renewed our Nutrition & Oral Health Award through Tameside Nutrition team. Copies of Healthy Lunch ideas were shared with parents/families.

Feb 2024 We celebrated Valentines Day and had 1 week half term holiday.

March 2024 Our theme was ‘Animals’. Our sponsored Easter event (fundraiser) this year was ‘design a bunting’ which we displayed in the main entrance of the building, total raised to be announce in April. We celebrated World Book Day and children came dressed in their pyjamas and brought in a favourite book to share, children were given a new book to take home, bought with the tokens. Parents were informed of our increase in fees which would come in to effect from April (in line with increase of government funding). We closed on 28[th] March for the Eater holidays (2 weeks).
