Chair person report
This year has been a tricky year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We started off the year well with children on roll and more due to start and we were financially in a good position. The pandemic closed us down in March 2020 until June 2020 which meant that we had no form of income other than the funding that the children were entitled to. We had 4 staff members who we tried to keep working from home for as long as we could to ensure that they were paid a wage and to avoid furlough. However, staff found this tricky and were put on furlough from April 2020.
Dawn left us in May 2020 for pastures new so we returned to pre-school in June as a team of 2 until Lucinda was able to re-join us. Covid made everything difficult so we made the decision to only open for the children going to school in September and on reduced hours. There was not many parents who took up this therefore finances again, took a hit.
During the pandemic we still organised some fundraising events which were done virtually. We held a quiz night and a bingo night and a raffle which helped us to raise some funds.
