Animal Aid & Advice North London is a registered Charity. Number 1039640, founded in 1971. The
Charily's Airns and Objectives are the provision of care and sheller of stray. neglected and unwanted
animals of all kinds. Most of our work currently involves iescuing stray, abandoned cats with some re-
horning of unwanted ones. Some small mammals occasionally come into Ouf care but 99% of our work
involves cats. We also promote how to be a responsible pet owner and the Importan￿ of neutering
which gives a better qualrty of lrfe to cats. The Charity has a non-destruction policy.
To achieve these aims the Charity encourages and helps people to have their animals neutered and
disseminates information on responsible pet ownetship among the public.
The Management Committee cornprises the Chairman. Deputy Chairman, Honorary Secretary,
Honorary Treasurer and can be up to four other Commfftee Member5. All of these would be Trustees of
the Charity.
The Charity's bankers are: Barclays Bank PLC. PO Box 6549. Muswell Hill, London N10 and
Nat West Bank PLC, 190 Musw￿l1 Hill Broadway. London N10 3TF
There are no paid officials or staff and the group owns no premises. Elections of officers and
committee members take place annually at the Annual General Meeting. Eligible outgoing members
may stand for re-election. The Annual General Meeting is held within three months of the end of the
financial year.
Election of Officers and Committee Members for 2Q23. Clara Colvin was elected chair. Marilyn Dy50n
Deputy Chair: Sally Satnpaio Hon. Secretary. Marilyn Dyson Treasurer.
General: We would like to thank Accountants, Amir Associates Ltd of 39 Braemar Avenue. Wood Green

continued to introduce new procedures in respect of both income and expenditure, which the
Trustees believe will ensure that the charity continues to operate in accordanTr with best practice.

The accounts for the year ended 31 ' December 2023 are part of this review
Donations..
The income from donations is down on the pyevious year but does tend to fluctuate
We have had no legacies left to us this year.
Membershi
Renewals remain roughly the same bul we are extending our contads through email.
We have only 48 life members and now down to 14 yearly ones.
Our Lend-a-Paw scPEme still generates a regular Sour￿ of income and raised £1,568 this year.
This is lower than P￿vIouS years dl￿ to tIE loss of (Tr of our more generou5 donors.
Charit Sho
The shop has been fully operational throughout 2023 and has generated an inccme of £31,537.
The shop Is the mainstay for the charity arKI Is a still focal point for our regular customer5 who normally pop in
hoping lo fnd a bargain. Wrth competrtion from attr￿r shops in the High Street we are forever grateful for their
support.
Recei
ts from Asset5', We have had an increase this year on nonnally low interest rates in the pasl
Velerina
Fees. Are higher due to increasiro costs and the number of catslkrttens passiTr3 through our haThds
Fosteri
Costs.. As our in take of cats has risen our fostering costs have increased. Mums and ktttens take
up a large proportion of these costs but we are forever grateful to the fosterers who take ￿ this endless task
of feeding and cleaning up after these little rogues. Some cats do sperKJ kjnger time with us before being re-
homed or moved on but we have tned. where FX)ssible, to redu￿ the tsme that animals SFEnd with us arKI this
has been reflected in our overall costs. Foster homes remained much the same as the previous year.
C4: The changes to C4 by RSPCA, Cats Protection aTrJ Battersea has had such an impact on the smaller
charities and independent rescuets. Where ￿fore, wrth the original Idea of C4 they were willing io neuter the
cats for them, this is no longer the case. The wort( that they did was most beneficial as these people ycked
up the strays that the larger groups w￿re not able to help or missed out altogelher. All of this contributed in
reducing numbers of unwanted krtiens. un-neutered cats arKI strays. thich also ha& an effed on the cats
passing through their and our hands. Re branded aThJ being njn by Cats Protection we feel very
disappointed by the outcome of this new scheme as they seem to be concentrab'ng more on owned cat's and
not supporting the strays. We feel we are unable to support this new scheme.
Sho
and Rent Costs have marginaly increased tArt to be exFected.
Vehicle Costs are higher than last year. When car had rts usual MOT and seNice we were advised that rt
needed new ￿akes.
Overheads are slEhtly higher due to risiro costs all round is to te expected.
Re
airs & Maintenance. Regular serviong of tIE Fire ExliThJuishers ts camed out each year and other mincy
expenses. .

Fieldwork.. The number of cats being homed is slightly higher than the previous year.
Economic pressures of households sts'll affect the uptake of new pets and people have specific criteria
for cats they wish to give homes to. Cats that have been neutered has increased. with microchips much
Ihe same. Cats taken in by other animal charity groups is much higher as is cats being retumed back
on site where safe lo do so. Cats in long and short term foster care remained constant. Our intake of
FIV+ cats is much le55 than previous years. If anyone would be interested in giving a home to one of our
rescue cats, please speak to us after the meeting.

We continue to test all cats that pass through our hands for the FIV and FELV virus. We vaccinate
against Feline Enteritis: Influenza and Leukaemia and micro-chip them on re-homing. These
measures offer cats the maximum possible prolection.
Our figures show that our Fieldworker activities were busy throughout the year dealing with stray, feral
and abandoned cats and we thank our fieldworkers for their continued ex￿pIlOnaI work.
Social Media.. Our Website still generates interest in adopting our cats.
Our Thanks: We are. as ever grateful lo The Hills Veterinary Practice. 178 Park Road, N8, and
the Village Vet Potters Bar, for their continued support. The Scratching Post in Hertfordshire and our
grateful thanks to the Rhodes Minnis Cat Sanctuary for taking in a number of cats from u5 this year.
In Conclusion: At the end of 2023 shows thal we are down by £19,332 thereby reducing our
resenjes to £192,132. In line with the Trustees, aim to hold a minimum reserve of at least two year's
expenditure, we are still in a posits.on to do so. This would enable the charity to continue in full operation
if any Sour￿ of income were lost until such time as a repla￿ment Sour￿ could be found in line with
other charities.
Finall
as Chair I would like to thank our Trustees for their hard work and support. Our thanks also go to
all our dedicated volunteer workers in the field. the shop. fostering. fund-raising and helping with social
media. Volunteers are the lifeblood of a group such as ours without whom we could not continue our.
work for the animals,
