Trustees Report 2021 to 2022

Little Nippers continue to have a highly experienced team of Early Years Childcare Practitioners. All staff are qualified to Level 3 in Childcare and Education. We are an inclusive setting and welcome all children and their families. We consider children's interests and use the Early Years Foundation Stage to observe, assess and plan activities to support children's development. We work very closely with our Parents/Carers, we send home regular questionnaires, so we know how to improve our setting, we have regular parents’ evenings to discuss their child’s development and progress. We have an open-door policy so parents can see their child’s personal learning file, whenever they wish.

Little Nippers has had another successful year. Children have developed well with the continued provision and constant update of learning resources.

We had a great start to the academic year with the 30 hours funding for 3 to 4-year olds for working parents.

Our garden area has continued to be a great asset for children’s physical development, imagination with our improved roleplay areas, and also a great support for their wellbeing.

We have improved our tables and chairs to improve children’s posture whilst playing at the tables at their chosen activities in nursery.

As the new EYFS came in from 2021-2022, we had some changes to put in place which we have successfully accomplished, staff have settled into their new roles easily with the transition of new way of observing children with less paperwork. Parents love our new children’s development reviews that they receive at the end of each term.

This year we were able to start our school transitions for our school leavers again, face to face with their new school teachers.

We have a good strong start to the new school year.

The Trustees of Little Nippers Preschool.
