Main Objects of the Trust:
a) The Advancement of the Christian Faith as set out in the Nicene Creed.
b) The relief of people in poverty or special need including the provision for and assistance and support of orphans, widows, the elderly, handicapped and the physically and mentally ill.

Activities and Achievements during the year:
INDIA
For many years Riverside has been supporting Rev. Tongminthang, latterly in his ministry in North East India, where he ran a Children’s Home and a School. However, to keep his FCRA License he needed to reside in Delhi. He therefore took on the Pastorate of the Kuki Worship Service (Church), which is a large Church made up of people from the North East of India. Soon after arriving in Delhi and being Inducted into the Church, he fell very ill with Covid and almost died. He was hospitalized and the Doctors’ felt he would not recover, however, by a miracle, he did survive. Tong’s brother, Pastor Lien, took on the running of the School and Children’s Home.
Riverside continued to sponsor the 15 younger children in the Children’s Home in the North East of India as well as some of those who are now in their late teens and early twenties. Four of the young ladies are now teachers in the school. Of course, the School was closed during the pandemic and the Children’s Home was isolated. Fortunately, none of the children were seriously ill with covid.
Support also continued for the Good News Centre in Delhi. During the pandemic they were very active running a Covid Relief Programme. They distributed food and money for food to over 300 needy families and also obtained oxygen concentrator machines which were placed in various Churches around Delhi. They also opened Covid Relief Centres in 5 States of India. Riverside was able to give over £5000 to the Project.
Since the end of the pandemic they have been able to start Life Learning courses and tailoring classes as well as other projects. They have also taken on the running of a very run down school started by the Baptist Missionary Society over 100 years ago. During the year they were busy refurbishing the boys’ hostel.
Support for a lady Pastor who goes into various slums to Delhi to offer support and help to ladies and children in great poverty.
Support for Pastor Luke in Telangana State, who organizes meetings for Pastors’ from a wide area.
Support for School and Children’s Hostel in Tamil Nadu.
ZIMBABWE, AFRICA
Support for Lethabisa School of Cutting, Designing, Dress and Patternmaking in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. This School trains young women so that they can earn their own living and support their families. A new School is planned in Kezi, an area south of Bulawayo, where land has been purchased. During the year, however, the Authorities did not do the pegging out of the land, so nothing was able to be started. However, for a short time a few classes took place in a disused and unfinished building.
BRITAIN
The Web Site which enables people to listen to sermons from the Christian Renewal Meetings which were held in Bournemouth from 1979 to 1997 has continued. Many of the preachers were leading Christian Ministers from different denominations and various Countries. The Web Site is called www.riversidechristianministries.org/
