| In 2021/2022 the Trust has employed four part-time workers: a |
|---|---|
| singer/songwriter, a storyteller, and two keyworkers. Their work is |
| supported by a dedicated part-time administrator. |
| 2021/2022 continued to be overshadowed by the Covid pandemic and |
| the impact ofGovernment guidance on how schools, churches and |
| community groups could function. This impacted on the scope and scale |
| of our work, but was starting to look more normal towards the end ofthe |
| year. | |
| We have continued our core provision ofassemblies and RE lessons. |
| These have been in school where local restrictions and school health and |
| safety policies allowed. Where in-person provision wasn't possible or |
| where schools were cautious, we delivered live assemblies via Microsoft |
| Teams or Zoom and developed recorded online assemblies, which were |
| made available to all our schools. This has continued to support schools |
| in meeting the requirements ofthe National Curriculum, building |
| understanding ofthe Christian faith, and contributing to social cohesion. |
| In addition to this work, the team have been involved in the following |
| ongoing and one-off projects during the year: |
| Re:wind and Fast Forward are RE events that increase understanding | |
| of major Christian festivals and assist with the transition to secondary |
| school. Due to Covid restrictions, Fast Forward was adapted and |
| delivered to individual classes in a reduced number ofschools. In some |
| schools these were done outside. In others we did Leaver's Assemblies |
| rather than a Fast Forward session. Re:wind to Christmas and Re:wind |
to |
| Easter were back to a more normal format, albeit with the restriction of |
| only being able to welcome one school to each session. | |
| Our summer Holiday Club remained online for the second year. |
| "Creation Staycation" provided short daily videos over four weeks ofthe |
| summer holiday, with lots of activity ideas and challenges that children |
| could do at home, in their gardens or while out and about. The theme |
| explored the wonders ofcreation and our part in it. |
| The Light Party, providing an alternative to traditional Halloween |
| activities, was our first large, in-person event as we emerged from the |
| Covid restrictions. Partnering with St Cuthbert's church, the evening |
| focused on rainbows and how, while we are all different, together we |
| make something beautiful. |
| Rock Solid, a youth group in the Wilsden area of Bradford, run in |
| collaboration with the local Methodist Church, has not been restarted, |
but |
| the team kept contact with attendees during the early part ofthe year, |
| delivering activity packs to their homes. The partnership will continue |
| through assemblies in the local school and one offevents through the |
| year. | |
| BlASAN is a weekly support group for refugees and asylum seekers in |
| Bradford. While they haven't been able to meet for much ofthe year, our |
| worker has continued to provide support making deliveries to vulnerable |
| people. | |
| Prayer Spaces are a space where children can be quiet and reflect on |
| the world, regardless oftheir personal faith. As schools have reopened |
to |
| visitors we have been able to restart these events, allowin small rou |
