The Trustees of the Cae Glas Charity Trustees' Report Annual Report for the year to 31st March, 2025 The Cae Glas Charity (Also known as Oswestry Town Council as Trustees, Guildhall, Oswestry, Shropshire) is registered with the Charity Commissioners (No. 1036331) and constituted by Deed of Trust. The Charity is administered by the below named Trustee: Oswestry Town Council Mr Arren Roberts (Clerk to the Trustees) The Cae Glas Charity was established by a Scheme of the Charity Commissioners sealed on 20th January 1994 with the aim of maintaining and improving parkland in Oswestry known as Cae Glas The Chairman of the Trust was Councillor Jonathan Upton. tote 2024/25 on the 164/10/25. The Councillors met once in 2023/24 on 10th July. Day to day management of the Park was undertaken by Mr Henry Teuma, the Operations Manager in direct consultation with Park staff. The balance held by the Cae Glas Charity is annually transferred to Oswestry Town Council to off-set costs incurred in grounds maintenance. The balance held as at 31st March 2024 totalling £25,511.44 was transferred during 2024/25. The balance held at the end of March 2025 will be transferred to the Council during 2025/26. Annual Report for the year to 31st March, 2025 Independent Examiner's Report Respective responsibilities of Trustees and examiner The charity's trustees, are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: (i) examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; (ii) to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and (iii) to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's report My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: (1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: (1) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and (ii) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act have not been met; or to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
