afternoon session not being viable. We are contracted by Portsmouth Early Years to offer children that have Nursery Education Grant Funding 15 hours per week for 38 weeks per year. We are registered for the government 2 year old funding and have had a couple of families meeting the criteria. We registered with Portsmouth Local Education Authority to offer the additional 15 hours of Universal Hours allowing several working families to claim 30 hours of Free Nursery Educational Funding. This has been very popular for our families with many taking the full 30 hours. This allowed for all our Practitioners to return in September with confirmed hours.
Section D: Achievements and Performance:
-
e Drayton Daisy Chain Pre-School continues to have an excellent reputation and has been able to accommodate all of our family’s requirements.
-
e Staffs continue with their professional development (When courses are available) E-Learning is now the preferred choice for our Practitioners. All Early Years Practitioners have a minimum of Level 3 Early Years Qualifications including a Foundation Degree and Qualified Teacher. All Early Years Practitioners have their own Key Person groups.

-
e Fundraising activities have been greater restricted due to Coronavirus however we have continued to fundraise including: The “Bags 2 School” which has proved to be very well supported and we now havea termly collection. We like to focus the money raised towards a specific activity or resource, we are looking to develop and improve our outside learning environment. We also have a photographer which raises money via commission. We continue to encourage a voluntary contribution for our healthy snacks. This has been appreciated by our families as the children now have a more varied diet tasting food that may be new to them.
-
e The “Lending Library” is very popular and has encouraged families to read together at home sharing the children’s thoughts with us.
-
e The Pre-School continues to offer a variety of outside activities these have included: ‘Active 8 The Mind’ / ‘Pyjama Drama’ / “Phonic Stars” and “Boogie Beat” we now request a voluntary contribution payment from the parents to fund these activities. At Christmas we had a party entertainer and the staff made a “Grotto” within the church for Father Christmas to visit.
