OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES ACTIVITIES
Significant activities
The main activity undertaken by the charity to accomplish its Objectives, is the running of a pre-school.
Pre-school activities We are a small term time only pre-school, our opening times are 9am - 3pm with the additional half hour for parents to drop off for 8:30am and late pick up at 4.00pm for a small cost. We provide care for chlldren ages 2 to 4 years.
We provide a wide range of activities to stimulate the children in a caring environment where they can independently learn and develop skills while building positive relationships. Observations are used to identify where the children are in their development.
Our setting aims to:
-
provide high quality care and educatlon for children below statutory school age;
-
work in partnership with parents to help children to tearn and develop;
-
add to the life and well-being of the local community; and
-
Offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diverslty.
Parents
As a community based pre-school, we also depend on the good will of parents and their involvement to keep golng. Parents are regarded as members of our settIng who have full participatory rights. These include aright to be:
-
valued and respected;
-
kept informed;
-
consulted;
-
involved; and
-
- Included at all levels.
We aim to ensure that each child:
-
isin a safe and stimulating environment
-
is given generous care and attention, because of our ratio of qualifled staff to children, as well as volunteer parent helpers;
-
has the chance to Joln with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together;
-
is helped to take forward her/his learning and development by being helped to build on what she/he already knows and can do;
-
- has a personal key person who makes sure each child makes satisfying progress;
-
ls ina setting that sees parents as partners in helping each child to learn and develop.
Public benefit
The provision of the pre-school provides education and tralning to children, and ts for public benefit.
The trustees have due regard for the charity commission's guidance on public benefit.
Volunteers
The chair-person, secretary and treasurer are volunteers who provide their time, free-of-charge.
We would Iike to take this opportunity to thank them for their ongoing contributions.

-
Courtney Ladybirds are thriving at the moment. We have adapted really well to the ongoing changes and are running a very successful setting. Below are some things that have happened over the last year: * — Story sacks — these are provided by the library — we borrow one every 2 weeks, and the Preschool use these as a theme for the 2 weeks. The stary sacks include — Handa’s Surprise, Guess how much | love you and Winnie the Witch
-
e COVID 19- The setting has been able to reopen without bubbles. We stlll continue to use the outdoor areas as much as possible.
-
e Constitution has been adapted to allow for virtual online meetings
-
® Our numbers are great at the moment and we are nearing full capacity ¢ This means, we are Ilkely to Jook to employ another member of staff to ensure the smooth running of the preschool Online book fayre - This was a success with the parents and meant the preschool received several free educations books — including
-
Miss Molly's school of kindness and Miss Molly’s school of manners.
-
¢ Wealso ran guess how many sweets are in the jar, and guess the Lambs name over Easter 2021 — children loved picking their own names for the lamb — this ralsed approximately £120
-
« lam not sure what the following year holds but | do want to ensure the staff are happy and fulfilling their roles to the best of their ability and | want to ensure the preschool continues to thrive.
| MANAGER'S REPORT: | WeDespite haveall hadof a this very we mixedhave yearrun the duepres to c ovid,hool neverto the surebest ofif we our willability, be open,putting closed,our lch i mitldr e dn, numberParent s etc.and staff first. Since coming back in September it has been easler knowing that we will not have to keep shutting at the drop of a hat (bonus of having double Jabbed staff}
We are at present nearly full with only 16 sessions left out of a total of 280 which for November is amazing.
The downside of this is we have a high number of children that need extra support for one reason or another, a lot of the issues are we are facing Is due in part to the children being locked down which has affected them massively with areas such as PSED (personal, social, emotional development) CLL {communication, language and literacy) and PD (physical develapment)
The chitdren have missed out on social Interactlon with other children and family which has impacted on their ability to share, engage in others play and extend their language and understanding, physical actlvity such as playing in parks, going to soft pay or swimming which all effects their strength and balance.
We also have some children with more complex needs and Stacey and the girls are doing their best to support them and their families and also Involving outside agencies.
We have taken on a new part time member of staff Jade to work as one to one with a particular child who would otherwise not be able to function within the group without her support, unfortunately we are not able to access any funding for this child at present so itis coming from our own funding.
We have also advertised for another temporary member of staff to enable Stacey to concentrate on her SENDco role so we can offer these children the best opportunity possible and also spend more time with the others.
We have just completed keyperson phone calls to all the parents for a catchup and assessment check, we received some amazing feedback from our parents which was so nice to hear.
Pre school is going from strength to strength.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial position
Principal funding sources
We have had a good financial year. Providing for 2, 3 and 4 year olds mean the majority of our income is from the local government and then parents top up for extra sessions.
We have run fundraising events as well to be able to buy additional resources for the pre-school.
