Dance Soctlon Report
The f88tivaltook place in half terrn agaln. from th8 29th Octobertothe 3rf November. we reduced
the number of days from 9 to 6 days. 88 a result ol th18 belng a non-qualrfying AIL EngLand year.
Whllst clashlnq wlth another local f88tival. th18 Option work8 well for us and we were well
attended.
We had the hlghly rasP8Cted adludlcator Jlll Baldock, who wa8 8UPP08ed to have 8dJudlcated for
U8 l88t year, but had to cancel due to e family emergency. Many of our 8tt8ndees cornmented on
Jill's kindness and fantsstlc feedback. everyon8 really enjoyed having Jill back th18 year.
The f88tivalwa8wellattended, a8 normalwe dld h8ve a numberof drop outs dueto belng 80 early
in the compatltlon 8ea80n. whlch r88ulted In u8 often running early. But thi8 was well
communlcatsd and led to a very r8lax8d and frlendly atm08phere. We h8d vary few groupg
attendin& but agaln this is very normal due to the tlmlng of our f8StIv8L we expect to have many
more groups 8t n&r£y8ars quallfier. We notlced a l8rye uplift in revenue for group 88Ction8, With
many more peopLe In the audience.
We were very lucky to have a huge number of volunt8er8 from Kahll L8Wi8 Dance Company. we
had mary of thelr Ucenced chaperone8 back8tage, whiGh meart all competitors were very well
looked 8ft8r and Emma and I were verywell 8UPPOrted by the r83t ofthe te8m.
On theflnal d8ywe had our bur88ry gectlon which we introduced in 2023, this isvery popularwlth
the students and t8ach8r8 and the 8tand8rd wa8 incredlbly hlgh. W8 w8r8 very lucky that thls
event wa8 sponsored by Bird College ag8ln. We are awera that there18 now 8 n8w principal at
Blr(I Collage 8nd thls support may not contlnue In th8 future, however we would like to carry on
wlth the bur8ary reg8rdl888.
Urrfortunately the venue had mada Some s18nlflc8nt management change8 and our old contsct
(who wa8 Incredlbly helpful), wa8 no longer at the 8chool. The new team were helpfuL and
ev8rythln8 r8n 8moothly. We have Since received our quote from St Cath8rlne's School for next
year ancl there ha8 been an excess of 8 500% Increase, whlch make8 th18 venue unaffordable for
us golngior¥V8rd. Thls Is 8 real shame 88 th18w88 a fants8tic venue which wewiLL miss.
We have booked our new venue; Weydon School. F8rnham. Our contsct ther8 ha8 been
Incredlbly h8lpfuL 8nd whllst thls 18 8 8maller 8tag8 th8 faclUti88 are great and we have
communlcated thi8 change to our returning School8. All Eng￿nd Dance vl8lted the school wlth
U8 and have approved this venu8 for 8n All England Danc8 festlval. Our 8djudicator has b88n
conflrmed and we h8ve béen luckyto 8ecure Jodi8 Clark, anothervery popular and respected All
En8land and BIFF adjudicator.
We heve alre8dy b88n Inundated wlth enqulrl88 from 8chool8 regarding entries. 80 expect to b8
Incredlbly busy thls year when open for entrie8 In July. We heve booked the arlJudlc8tor and
venue for 9 day8.
