CEO’s Report
----- End of picture text -----
This has been an eventful and meaningful year for CF Dream Holidays Charity. We are delighted to share that we have been able to send 142 CF families and their children on much-needed holidays to a range of wonderful venues across the United Kingdom. Later in this report, you will see some of the heartfelt letters and pictures we received from families whose lives were touched by these breaks—messages that remind us why our work is so important.
Fundraising has once again proven challenging, a reality now faced by almost every charity in the UK. Despite this, our team has continued to work tirelessly to secure what funding is available. We are deeply grateful to the holiday companies that have continued to support us with generous discounts. In particular, we have built a strong ongoing partnership with a small company on the Isle of Wight, whose consistent goodwill enables us to offer affordable and enjoyable holidays every year.
Our staff remain at the heart of everything we do. With one full-time and three part-time members, all working from home, we continue to keep operational costs low without ever compromising on the quality of service we provide to families. As CEO, I am incredibly proud of their dedication, resilience, and willingness to go above and beyond.
This year also brought sadness. We said farewell to our long -serving Holiday Coordinator, Annie, who passed away from cancer. Annie devoted nearly twenty years to Dream Holidays and retired only a year before her passing. She was an integral part of our story, and she is greatly missed by all of us. Rest in peace, Annie.
Despite the difficulties, we end the year on a hopeful note. Annie herself would have been the first to say that Dream Holidays continues to be a vital source of respite for families caring for a child with Cystic Fibrosis. The breaks we provide offer not only rest and joy, but a chance to create precious memories during profoundly challenging times.
With gratitude for the support we have received and confidence in the mission that drives us, we look forward to a successful and impactful 2026.

“We had some much needed family time together.
We were all sad to come home, we loved every minute, thank you so very, very much for your help in us making these core memories that we shall remember and cherish forever”
“To see him smile and just be a normal boy for a week was the best feeling ever”
“We had the most beautiful, relaxing, fun filled break thanks to CF Dream Holidays. This came at a much needed time and gave our family a break from the stresses of CF.
My daughter enjoyed herself so much and we made beautiful memories that we will cherish”
“We as a family can't thank you enough for giving my son and us as a family a much needed get away”
“The family enjoyed a break away from the normal reality of life.
Being able to slow down and spend time as a family and enjoy things we don't always get to do.
We cannot thank CF dream holidays enough for giving us the chance to get away and unwind for a bit and bring us closer together again as a family”
The financial, practical, and emotional cost of having CF can be really hard on the families we support. For many, they are also facing financial and social challenges, sometimes so significant that having a child with CF becomes ‘just’ another thing they are managing, even though we know it has a daily impact on their lives. We hugely appreciate that as a team who know our families well, we can reach out to CF Dream Holidays to support the families that we know are most in need of a break. These holidays offer a chance for fun and to spend time as a family, away from the stresses of daily life. Without CF Dream Holidays, these families would not have the opportunity to have a holiday and experience the many benefits it can bring. A huge thank you for everything you do, from the CF Team at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Sheffield Hospital
Caring for a CF child can place immense strain on families as a whole, with little respite from the extensive burden of treatment. Being able to refer to Dream Holidays offers families the opportunity to rest and recharge away from daily stressors.
The referral process is straightforward, and as Dream Holidays take care of the booking the holiday is organised without adding further pressure on the family. CF Social Worker
The children & their families who I support hugely benefit from the holidays you provide. A child with CF has to work hard everyday of every year to ensure they remain well or get better from an infection- we never give them a break & we are always asking them to work a little harder. A holiday has lots of benefits- we know that ourselves- the anticipation & excitement even! For a child with CF to have fun with their family, parents to see their children having fun, a possible break from working so hard, siblings that often appear to be in the background & the memories made cannot be underestimated. CF Specialist Nurse Northampton General Hospital
These children often have to carry out a huge burden of CF care on a daily basis this helps to keep them well - often these treatments are very stressful and time consuming for the whole family so a short break or holiday provides respite away from the stress of everyday life and an opportunity to relax and enjoy different experiences which may not necessarily be available to the CF child if a dream holiday wasn't offered to them via this charity."
Respiratory nurse specialist at Queen Elizabeth University hospital in Glasgow
Our families have had lovely holidays including to the Isle of Wight and Newquay and all of them come back full of energy and saying what a wonderful time they have had. It is great for them to have good family time together enjoying new experiences. We are very grateful for all that CF Dream holidays do for our patients providing such great holidays.
