Aims of the nursery The aims of the Pre-school are to enhance the development and education of children primarily under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of theirchildren through community groups and by; u.- Offering appropriate play. education and care facilities, family learning and extended hours groups, together with the right of parents to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activitles of such groups, ensuring that such groups offer opportunities for all children whatever their race, cultLtre, religion, mean5 or 8bility; Encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their familles and promoting public interest in and recognition of such needs in the local area5; x. Instigating and adhering to and furthering the aims and objects of the Pre-school learning Alliance Structure, governance and management th The nursery is an unincorporated body which adopted its original constitution on 27 October 1993 th and registered as a charity on 6th April 1994. At a meeting of the members on 17 November 2011 the nursery adopted the model pre-school constitution of the Pre-school Learning Alliance. The overall management and control of the nursery rests with the individual members of the nursery management committee, who are also ihe charity trustees. The minimum number of committee members is 5 and the maximum 12, togetherwith up to a further 3 co-opted members. The committee consists of a Chair, Treasurer and Secretary& (the officers), and not less than 2 nor more than 9 other elected members, and up to 3 further members co-opted at any time after the AGM. Committee members are elected for one year at the AGM and retiring members may be re-elected unless they have already served on the committee in any capacity for ten consecutive year5. Co-opted members may joln at any time on the invitation of the committee butsh311 retire at the next AGM and shall not serve for more than six consecutive years.

Financlal revlew The policy of the nursery is to maintain an operational reserve sufficient to meet the running costs of the nursery for a period of six months should sources of income be curtailed. The financial statements have been prepared in 3ccord3nce with section 133 Charitles Act 2011 (receipts and payment5 basisl. The nursery had a deficit of £3,801.46 in the year and measures are being taken to ensure that income matche5 expenditure going forward. Public benefit statement The commlttee have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on publlc benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising their powers. The charity operates in a sm?11 local community and is a provider of quality nursery education and care for children aged usually 2 to 5 years who travel from surroundingvillage5 and towns. The nursery 15 registered a5 a provider of full daycare with OFSTED and was given 'Outstanding' in their last inspection on 17 September 2019. We first gained Outstanding status in 2014. Also registered with the current Government Grant scheme for eligible children to receNe 15 or 30 hours free entitlement from the term following their third birthday. The nursery is also registered to provide 15 hours free entitlement for eligible 2 year olds. From April 2024, all working parent5 of 2 year olds can acce55 15 hour5 per week From September 2024, all working parents of children aged 9 months up to 3 years old, will be able to access 15 hours per week. From September 2025, all working parents of children aged 9 months up to 3 years old will be able to acce55 30 hours free childcare per week. The Trustees employ 4 staff - a full time manager, deputy manager and 2 full time members {all of whom hold a recognised qualification in childcare). Bank staff members also hold the necessary qualifications. Volu nteer helper5 have also given their time to the charity on an occasional basis. All staff carry out CPD training and update training as necessary. The charity offers Nursery education arEd Ca￿ to children aged between 2 to 5 years. Childrerk can be admitted before their 2. birthday at the discretion of the charity, if space allows. Opens for 5 full days, the equivalent of 10 sessions. All days have flexible finishing times. Members of staff plan and implement activities in line with the Early Years Foundation StaEe curriculum requirements. This report is made solely to the trustee5 in accordance LAnder Section 144 of the Charitie5 Att 2011 (the Charities Act). My work has been undertaken so that I might State to the charity's tru5tee5 those matters l am required to state to them in an Independent Examiner's report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law. I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the charitvs trustees for my examination work. Respectlve respon$ibillties of Trustees and Examiner The trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider that an audlt is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charitie5 Act 2011 and that an independent examination is needed, It Is my responsibllity to., Examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act To follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners {under section 145 (51 Ib} of the Charities Act, and To 5t3te whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examinerfs report My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity CoTnmissioner. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of any unusual items or dlsclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.
