The object of the Association is to advance the

Our Parent Association enjoys an active community of volunteers and supporters. Events are often run by single people, or different groups of people, ensuring that the work is spread among the parent and carer community. ## Section D                      Achievements and performance 

In this financial year the PA has funded items to improve the school **Summary of the main** setting itself such as new tables and chairs for all classes and new **achievements of the charity** lockers for the KS2 children and provide added extras for the children. **during the year** We have supported wonderful experiences for the children, such as cookery lessons for every child, Easter eggs for all children and a year 6 leavers photobook. We have also funded age appropriate workshops for some year groups; Zoolab visit and a History day. Unfortunately due to the school closure during the nationwide lockdown other planned activities were not able to take place but hopefully these will occur in the future. 

Literacy and numeracy resources are an important part of our contributions, and so again this year we’ve provided handwriting resources, maths resources, and phonics resources. 

In addition, we have purchased two new smart boards, bought a scooter rack and funded the full refurbishment of the fitness trail around the school field. We are proud to have provided these things that would not have been possible within the school budget. 

## **Section E                    Financial review** 

The year began with a healthy balance which has been the case for a **Brief statement of the** few years due to low spending. The school have been encouraged to **charity’s policy on reserves** approach the PA with spending ideas to take advantage of the funds available and so, because of this (and a slight reduction in fundraising due to COVID impacting fundraising in the Summer Term) there have been more outgoings than incomings this financial year. Whilst there is likely to be a potential reduction in fundraising for 20/21 due to possible further restrictions these funds should still allow the PA to make purchases for the school and the children during the upcoming year. It will be necessary to review the spending approach in the future.

## **Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees** 

I report on the accounts for the year ended 31 August 2020, which are set out on pages 1 to 3. 

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** 

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 and that an independent examination is needed. 

It is my responsibility to: 

- Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; 

- To follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and 

- To state whether particular matters have come to my attention. 

## **Basis of independent examiner’s report** 

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. In also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. 

## **Independent examiner’s statement** 

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 

1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: 

- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and 

- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act 

have not been met; or 

2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
