Manley & Mouldsworth Preschool - Annual Report 2020 2021

Charity Number 1035699 Registered Address: C/O Manley Village School School Lane Manley Cheshire WA6 6RU

Chair Person - Mrs Sue Eaton Trustees Mrs G Mc Tigue Miss S Bell

The Preschool sits within the grounds of Manley Village School, this is a great location for access to the preschool and clubs. The Preschool is an important part of the local community providing childcare for children from the age of 2-10 years old. This preschool provides not only the schools with an intake every year, but also provides full wrap around care for both schools which is an essential asset when choosing your school.

## Mission Statement

“Where learning is fun, and happiness comes naturally”

Benefts to the local community

The preschool is run by a committee of parents, past and present who have a passion to see that every child excels while in our care.

During their time at preschool the children will develop lifelong skills and grow while having fun. Every child’s needs will be met while learning through play.

During their time with us they will be making friends, sharing and growing in confidence.

We run a Rising 5 session which gets them ready for school, this encourages

Independence and reassures them what will happen next after leaving us. During this time, they will visit the school see their new teachers, have activities like PE, Reading, writing plus they

will also spend times at break making new friends ready for school.

Unfortunately, this did not happen as Covid had hit, things did get better but then we were put back in lockdown and the clubs suffered again, this had an effect on us repeatedly. No one knew if it would ever end, all we could do was continue and provide our exceptional service, this helped parents and the children loved coming in when they were allowed. The children continued to struggle one minute they were allowed in and then they or their parents had covid. This was the case for afterschool and clubs too. Once again it had an effect on the business.

## Treasurer Report

Due to covid we were still unable to raise valuable funds, which effected the business. During this time, before or after school sessions suffered as did the preschool, we lost so much in revenue. We thought covid was never going to end. This meant that we had no extra money coming in like in the previous year. We tried everything to get support, but to no avail. We even lost our rural support from CWAC. So Covid, was then seen as something we had to live with, this still had devastating consequences to the business. The children in and out of preschool and the clubs, having to have weeks off repeatedly. covering staff when they had covid, it was all extra expenses.

The accounts once again had to be extended as the increase in work with the accountant meant he didn’t have time to do them.

## Leaders Report

Covid continued to rue our charity and setting along with the country. We didn’t know if it would end or not. This was a difficult time for the kids as well as the staff.

We continued to carry on, in the belief it wouldn’t be long, before this situation improved.

During this difficult time, we also helped the school and parents still giving 100% service and always going above and beyond, which is what we are known for. We continued to provide support for key workers and support for our parents while going through such a difficult time.

We also like so many businesses believed this unpresented time would be short lived and not continue for a year.
