ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE -
Chairman’s report
I'd like to begin by acknowledging the incredible growth we’ve seen as a club over the past year. We now have enough players to field teams in almost every.age group for the upcoming season —a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work of everyone involved. Our teams have gone from strength to strength, and we continue to welcome new players each month. I’ve had the pleasure of watching a wide range of games this year, and | can honestly say the standard of football being played is outstanding. As Chairman, | couldn’t be prouder— not only of the skill on display but also of the exemplary way our players conduct themselves on and off the pitch. They are a true credit to the club. A special mention must go to our U13s, who had an exceptional season, winning both the league and the cup. Their development has been impressive, and they’ve been a credit to coach. | look forward to watching their continued progression next season.
This year, we’ve had five teams competing in the BPTFL junior section — an incredible milestone for our club. I'd like to wish all our teams the very best for the upcoming season — may it be both enjoyable and successful.
It’s been fantastic to see our mini section grow so strongly. We’re incredibly grateful to our dedicated coaches and coach helpers who work tirelessly to welcome and develop new players. Your efforts are appreciated more than you know.
We also said a fond farewell this year to our U16s. These players have represented the club with pride over the years, and we wish them all the very best for the future. Many are continuing their football journeys with youth teams across the county, and we will follow their progress with pride. A special congratulations to Molly Ridge, who recently represented Wales BGCW U17 in their match against Scotland. Molly played superbly and has also been awarded her Welsh Cap — a remarkable achievement. We are incredibly proud of you, Molly!
Reading Emma’s youth club report was a real pleasure. The increasing number of children attending each week speaks volumes about the positive impact the youth club is having. It’s also brilliant to see young volunteers stepping into more responsible roles — they truly represent the future of our club. A big thank you to all the youth club volunteers — your commitment is vital, and we are grateful for everything you do.
This year saw three age groups go on tours. Our U7 and U8s travelled to Butlins in Minehead and our U8s came back with the Fair Play Award — a huge honour out of 32 teams. A heartfelt thank you to Paul Williams, Kim Davis, Richard Champion, Tom Wines, Ryan Baker and William James for making the trip possible. Our U14s took two teams to Ilfracombe for their first tour across the bridge — a fully funded trip for the players, thanks to the tireless fundraising efforts of Jade Davis and Sharon Newman, who raised over half the total cost themselves. | ~ had the privilege ofjoining this tour as a coach alongside David Newman, Paul Williams and Brandon Clatworthy, and it was a fantastic weekend all around. ES
Thank you to everyone.who helped-make.our. Summer, Halloween and Christmas parties such great successes. It was brilliant to see so many players and families enjoying the events. This year’s end-of-season presentation was another highlight — with so many teams, we had to spread it over four evenings! Thank you to all who attended — the players and coaches looked incredibly smart in their‘club ties.

It was also fantastic to bring back our club fun day, which was a huge success. The atmosphere was brilliant, and we received great feedback from visiting teams. I’m already looking forward to next year’s!
We have once again been fortunate to receive generous sponsorship support this season. A massive thank you to our sponsors: Sarn and Bryncwils Club, Tisugo, On Tap, Paula's Café, JB Waste-Removals, Vortex and CG. Looking ahead to next season, we are delighted to welcome new sponsors:TJ Taxis, Jersey Bakery, H2Glo, TWS Training, Curtis & Sons, G Rose Marine, Prince Balti and Fresh Coat. Your support makes a real difference.
A sincere thank you goes to Liz and Neil Reardon, who stepped down from their committee roles this year after eight years of dedicated service. The club would not be where it is today without their incredible contribution. From all of us — thank you both for everything.
| also want to acknowledge the incredible team of volunteers working behind the scenes to keep the club running smoothly. Jade, our new Club Secretary, has done an outstanding job these last few months, alongside Edward, our Treasurer. Paul continues to support with a number of behind the scenes roles while also coaching our U8s. Emma, our Youth Leader and Safeguarding Officer, plays a vital dual role. Thank you to Richard Champion who has built us a fantastic new website alongside some other behind the scenes roles as well as also coaching our U8s. leuan Hoey, who registers and rosters players on Comet. Jade and Lauren, our outgoing Fixture Secretaries, have ensured the smooth running of fixtures throughout the season, and we now welcome Kim and Paul as their successors. To all of our coaches — thank you for your time, dedication, and passion in developing our growing teams.
And finally, a huge thank you to all the parents and carers who bring their children to football and youth club week in, week out. Your ongoing support is what keeps our club thriving.
Thank you all once again for your continued commitment to Aberkenfig Boys’ and Girls’ Club.
