ABERKENFIG BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE Chairnpon's report Firstly, I would Itke to mention how much the club is growing each year and at present we have enough children for nearly every age group next season. The teams thi5 year have gone from strength to strength, and we are continuing to gain new players. I have been to watch a varlety of games this year and the quallty of the football belng played Is Immense and I couldn't be prouder as a chairman. The way all players conduct themselves durlng matches has also been a credit to the club. The UISS have continued to develop and grow. and I would Ilke to personally Say a well done to Molly who played for U15s Boys and Girls Club of Wales In Summer 2023. It was great to see the U15s wln a Cup after a tense penaltyshootout In Maythis yearand they may be a team to watch outforin the U16s league thls season, following a strong finish in the second half of last season. We have S other teams competing in the 8PTFL junior section which Is a huge achievement and I wish all the team5 a successful and enjoyable season. Seeing the number of players increase In the minl sectlon of the club has been amazln8 and we are grateful to the coaches and coach helpers for contlnuing to attract new players to the club. It Is lovely to read Emma's report and to see how well the youth club Is progressingand the number of children corning through the door speaks for itself. It is also fantastic to see the young volunteers tsking on some responslblllty as they wlll become the future of the club. I would Ilke to thank all our current volunteers at the youth club as without you the club won't be able to run, so thank you for all your support and commitment. I would like to thank everyone who attended and made our Halloween and Christmas parties successful this year. It was lovely to see so many parents and players attendln& and I thoroughly enjoyed both events. prentatIOn was fantastlc again this year and due to the number of teams we had to split It over two nights. I would like to thank everyone who attended. All players and coaches looked $0 smart in their ties. Thank you to our very klnd sponsors (Amanda and Martin Willlmas) who ensured all our young people and coaches had a tle to wear. It was great to have the fun day back. it was a fantastic day. A8aln, thank you to everyone who particlpated to make it such a success, It was lovely to see such an impressive turn out with some very good feedback from other teams. 8rln8 on next year I sayl We have been very lucky as a club to have some amazing sponsors again this year which include Dents Plus. Pun M Pro, Sunnyside and CGI. I would also like to thank James Rees (parent of an under 15 player) who competed in the Swansea Iron Man and ralsed over £500 for the club in July 2024. La5tlyi I would like to thank all the volunteers that work behind the scenes to ensure the club runs smoothly. Their commitment to the dub is remarkable. Liz, our secretary, does an immense amount of work behind the scenes, alongside Edward our Treasurer. Nell also undertakes work behlnd the scenes, as well as coachlng the U15s.Thank you to our safeguardingofficer and youth leader Emma, and also to Gemma and Lauren our fixture secretaries who ensure our games go ahead. I would like to say a huge thank you to Gemma who has reslgned from her role as Junior Fixture Secretary due to other commltments. She has been an integral part of our club for a number of years and has done an incredible job. We welcome Jade Davls as Gemma's replacement. Jade Is a Pant of an U14 player so already knows the club and I look forward to working with her. I would also like to thank all our coaches who take time out of busy schedules to coach our ever-growing teams. Additionally. I would like to thank all the parents and carers that brlngthe young people to football and youth club. ABERKENFIG BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 FINANCIAL REVIEW The principal sources of funds are donations, grants, player Subscriptions and Youth Club activities. Total receipts for the year were £33,56312023 £49,394} of which £30,147 (2023 £43,044) were unrestricted and £3,417 (2023 £6,350) were restricted. Total payments for the year were £39,980 {2023 £42,704), of which £36,563 {2023 £35,605) was unrestricted and £3,41712023 £7,099) was restricted. Overall, the net payments for the year were £6,416 (2023 net receipts of £6,690), of which £6,41612023 net receipts £7,439) was unrestrlcted and £nil (2023 net payments £{749)) was restricted. Total reserves at the year-end were £13,315, which were wholty unrestricted, free reserves, represented by the cash at bank balances (2023 £19,731, wholly unrestricted). The charity will ensure that we maintain some reserves of finances to cover contingencies.
