Starehe UK was founded in 1994 to raise funds to support destitute children at Starehe Boys' Centre and, since its founding in 2005, Starehe Girls' Centre in Kenya. It is an unincorporated charity, and in April 2015 will pass all its assets to a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Reg No 1158079), which has the same objects.

Objects: THE GOVERNING DOCUMENT WILL TAKE EFFECT WITH:(1) CLAUSE 1 REPLACED BY THE FOLLOWING:1. THE CHARITY HEREBY FOUNDED SHALL BE CALLED STAREHE UK (HEREINAFTER CALLED ¶THECHARITY÷) OR BY SUCH OTHER NAME AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME DECIDE.(2) CLAUSE 3.1 REPLACED BY THE FOLLOWING:3.1 THE FURTHERANCE OF THE EDUCATION OF THE PUPILS AT STAREHE BOYSã CENTRE ANDSCHOOL AND STAREHE GIRLSã CENTRE AND SCHOOL IN KENYA BY THE PROVISION OF FUNDSFOR SUCH CAPITAL OR INCOME EXPENSES AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL THINK FIT AND IN PARTICULARBY THE PROVISION OF BURSARIES AND SCHOLARSHIPS TO FUND THE EDUCATION AT STAREHEBOYSã CENTRE AND SCHOOL AND STAREHE GIRLSã CENTRE AND SCHOOL OF POOR ORORPHANED CHILDREN.
