THE GUIDE ASSOCIATION SHROPSHIRE COUNTY
FINANCIAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 JULY 2022
Financial Review
This year we have supported many events acro55 the County and tried lo raise the profile of Gidguiding in
Shropshire. We took the decision to not increase our subscription payment from members due that many ol the
units still slruggling to recover from lockdown.
We have therefore used some ol our savings to cover this increased expenditure on PR representation
Th$re is a trip planned for 2023 to Switzerfand which monies hava started to be r￿￿1ved and these are shown in
Ihese ao¢ounls as restricted funds
We also were given a donalion from a retired member and this is shown as Designated funds
Reserves Polic
The trustees have agreed lo maintain a poliGy of 3 years worth ol rent and 5erwce charge payments for the county
office which equates tc> approximalely £52,000 and wi15 be review8d at every financial year end
The bank balances at the year end continue to b& in excess of this policy and we 8xpect to spend funds in lino Wlth
the new policy in future financial periods.
Free res8rves al the year end were £154,917 which are a represenlatitsn of the charity's unreslricled lunds12021=
£169,292).
Public Bpnèfit
In planning our activilies for the year the trustees have had due regard lor the Charity Commission's guidance on
public benefit. In fulfilling the aim ol Guiding, being the development of gids and young wornen. the Charity has
organised activilies and supporied leaders in running events physically and virtually. Girfguiding Shropshire
continues lo support th8 national Girlguiding programme by continuing lo train it's members free of Gharge.
