THE GUIDE ASSOCIATION SHROPSHIRE COUNTY
FINANCIAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 JULY 2021
Financial Review
The year started with still being in the lod(down lor the coronavinJs pandemic and uncertainty as to how Girlguiding
UK WOU￿ move to a roadtnap out. This meant we conlinued to only support our members virtually. We did however
continue to maintain and improve our activity ￿ntre Lyneal by spending the designated funds on an ongoing
hedule ol maintenance work.
We continued to have meetings via Zoom for the Finance Committee, Risk & G0Veman￿ Commitee, the Award5
Cornmiltee and of course the Counly Executive. I see these as posilNe ways to ensure financial information is
communicated in a clear and consistent manner.
Reserves Polic
The trustees have agreed to maintain a wlicy of 3 years worth of rent and gemee charge payments foi the counly
office which equates to approximately £52,000 and will be reviewed at every financial y8ar end
The bank balances at the year end continue lo be in excess ol thi5 policy al￿ we expect to spend funds in line with
new policy in lulure linanual periods
Free reserves at the year end wer8 £169,292 which are a represen18tion of the chaiity's Un￿Stricted funds12020".
£176,392)

In planning our activities for the year the Iruslees have had due regard for the Charity Commission's guidance on
public benefit. In fulfilling the aim Of Guiding. being the development of girls and young women, the Charity has
organ15ed activities and supported leaders In running events physically and virtually. Girlguiding Shropshire
continues lo support the national Girlguiding programme by continuing to train it's members free of charge
