Objectives and Activities
Yaddlethorpe Pre School is established to enhance the development and education of children primarily under school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups by:
-
Offering appropriate play facilities and training courses, together with the right of parents to take responsibility for, and to become involved in, the activities of such groups, ensuring that such groups offer opportunities for all children whatever their race, culture, religion, means of ability;
-
Encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and promoting public interest in, and recognition of, such needs in the local area;
-
Instigating, adhering to and furthering the aim of the Pre School Playgroups Association.
The policies adopted by the Pre School in the furtherance of these objectives, are:
-
To provide accommodation and equipment, and to engage staff;
-
To raise money to pay for the Preschool’s activities;
-
To make such payments as shall be necessary;
-
To fix and collect the fees payable in respect of children attending groups run by the pre-school;
-
To control the admission of children to the groups run by the pre-school and, if appropriate required parents or guardians to withdraw them;
-
As a member of the Pre School Playgroup Association send an accredited representative to vote at local Branch/or county meetings and the national AGM of the Pre School Playgroup Association.
-
To take such other action as may benefit the Pre – School.
Achievements and Performance
The Pre School is a busy setting in Bottesford, Scunthorpe. The sessions are still predominantly feed paying children, as fewer families do not take the sessions until the children are three. The setting works hard to provide high standards, well trained staff and ensure that the children visiting the setting are welcomed into a secure enabling environment, which is well equipped and well-staffed. The setting forward budget to ensure that they are constantly reflecting on the challenges that Childcare settings are currently facing.
We advertise for new committee members prior to the AGM and talk to parents/carers about taking an active role in the running of the Childs’ Pre School. All members of the committee are DBS checked, and registered with OFSTED.
During the period under review, income exceeded expenditure by 8393.62. The charity aims to hold sufficient reserves in order to achieve its policy objectives.
During this financial year, the setting has made steps forward to continue to secure their future as a group, they have done this by constantly adjusting to reflect the needs of the parents.
