## **– Treasurers Annual Report April 2021 March 2022 for Metheringham Preschool.**

## **Submitted at the AGM – September 2022**

All I can say is WOW. Well done to everyone’s hard work and the fundraising which has gone on

Hopefully we have now seen the back of this pandemic and we can go back to welcoming parents and the children having a normal year and enjoying everything they used to and becoming more social as the ones currently attending were born just before or during the pandemic so have missed a lot of socialising

As you can see, we made a profit and a pretty good one as well. We have definitely turned a corner, but we still have to be very careful especially with the cost-of-living crisis now facing us.

Another cost that has appeared which was not there the previous year was a decision by the committee to introduce a uniform for staff and children. This is not compulsory but seems to be a hit with some parents

Wages have increased but within this year, but this was mainly due to the living wage increase which took affect in April 2021. Also, the aunties increased their hours due to the many children we had towards the end of the spring and summer term.

The bank account is running with a healthy credit balance and this year’s accounts show a credit balance of £26215. This has doubled from last year mainly due to the profit we made which was caused by many reasons such as fee increase both from government and fee-paying parents and Fundraising.

As I write this, we are halfway through another year which is looking positive and although it probably won’t be as bigger profit as last year as the rent has now increased by 25% but this was not a shock as hasn’t increased for at least 5 years.

I would also like to welcome Gemma to the preschool who has joined us a new Auntie to replace Auntie Sue who retired in July. We wish Sue a very happy retirement and Gemma a warm welcome.

I have enjoyed my time as treasurer at Metheringham Pre School and im truly happy to have support of some great aunties and committee members. Unfortunately, I probably won’t be as active this year due to having no children attending the setting anymore but I’m hoping all parents, aunties and committee members know that I’m only a phone call or email away.

Looking forward to another exciting year ahead which might be my last as treasurer

Signed by Helen Brown Treasurer, on behalf of the Metheringham Pre-School Trustees.
