## **ANNUAL REPORT** 

We outline below the activities of the Trust for the past year 2021. It has again been an exceptional year due to the continuing pandemic, but we are glad to say that the Lord has graciously enabled us to maintain the work of the Trust throughout. In addition to the regular publication of the magazine “Youthful Days” we have been able to issue a selection of ministry, with more in preparation. Meetings of the trustees have been held remotely as necessary, and we have been well supported financially especially by legacies. As ever we have sought to meet the requirements of the Charity Commission, notably regarding public benefit as illustrated below. 

## **YOUTHFUL DAYS** 

A further six issues of this bi-monthly magazine have been printed and about 3,000 copies of each issue distributed, of which 2,500 are sent free of charge overseas. It continues to be well received, with a number of encouraging accounts of interest and blessing among young people, especially from Africa where God’s work is undoubtedly spreading thanks to the labours of many devoted believers who have a genuine care for the flock, and particularly for the young. 

Significant distributions are made to Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya, in addition to Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique. In these countries, through the Lord’s guidance, we have been able to establish a number of reliable contacts who oversee the local distribution of “Youthful Days” to churches in their immediate areas. We are thankful to the Lord for the labours of these workers overseas, without whose commitment we could not reach many of our younger readers. 

Christian literature in these African countries is often difficult to obtain, so that the regular provision of articles in “Youthful Days” has equipped Sunday School teachers with much needed stories illustrating the basic truths of Christianity, and assisting those teachers in the presentation of the Gospel. There is no doubt that the Lord, in His goodness and grace, has opened to us a door of opportunity to reach out to young ones and to bring encouragement to those in these countries who are so committed to His work. 

Whilst the Lord sees to it that the flow of material for the magazine is always sufficient, and new articles contributed often just meet the need of the moment, the editor would like to thank all who have contributed during the past year, especially those who have provided articles regularly. All such contributions are cause for 



thanksgiving to the One who supplies all our needs. Thanks, are also due to our proofreaders, and to Eric McPhail and David Greeves for their contributions to the Bible class material. 

## **BIBLE DISTRIBUTION OVERSEAS** 

Demand has increased this year as the pandemic has eased, and communication has improved in most African countries. We now supply Bibles for Nigeria mainly via the “Joy to the World” bookshop at Ibadan, a contact for which we are extremely grateful as helping to reduce carriage costs which have increased considerably. Bibles are also provided directly from England to three of those already mentioned in Benin City. There is also a desire for God’s word in Zambia, for help with which we are grateful to the Zambia Bible Society. We have also been able to provide a small supply of French Bibles supplied by “Chapter Two” bookshop, via a contact established many years ago by our brother the late Pierre Rhein, to be presented to graduates at the Ecole Biblique de Moanda in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This year too we have supplied a reliable labourer in India with Bibles in ten local languages via the Bible Society of India. 

## **TRACT DISTRIBUTION** 

The Trust supplies a range of tracts free of charge to any who wish to use them. Requests for tracts increased in 2021 due to more people returning to normal activities as covid-19 restrictions were gradually reduced. 251,450 tracts were sent out for distribution in the UK. They have also been provided for use overseas when requested. 

In May we undertook a reprint of the two tracts “What is Wrong with the World” and “I Want to be Free.” These are printed on thin card and are preferred by some for putting through letter boxes with an invitation to the Gospel preaching.  We later decided to support the translation of Brian Parr’s tract “Jesus Said”, which is mainly Scripture, into other languages for use by our contacts in reaching non-English speaking people. Work has begun on some African and Indian dialects. 

We continue to provide a website with information on all current publications and an archive of the now discontinued “Living Water”. There is also a section for “Youthful Days” and its Bible class. Visits to the website have noticeably continued to increase: it is encouraging to see the steady interest in the index to “Living Water”, and the site has been improved to make this easier to search by topic, author and title. The Bible class is also available: answers are not regularly returned in the UK, but it has significant attention overseas. The monthly set of questions is regularly downloaded, indication that it is used in several countries.
