**Activities:** Karatu trains trainers to promote reading. Commissions stories & illustrations from children & local artists, prints & distributes books in schools, open markets, mother & baby clinics & to street children. Trainers run workshops to train other trainers. Karatu works in all areas regardless of religion, culture & ethnic divide when opportunities arise. Very flexible approach.
