**- Review of the Year 2023 24**

## **The Commiee is pleased to report a fundraising total for the academic year of £36,728 and donaons to the school of £28,233.**

Fundraising: It was another record-breaking year of fundraising for the PTA! Our biggest fundraiser event of the year was the Christmas Fair, which along with Santa’s Groo, raised an amazing £7,048. We also had our biennial Ball, held in the Spring for 2024, as well as the silent aucon (successfully all done online this year), which together raised £6,478. The sun shone for the Summer Fair and saw the return of go-karts, the human fruit machine and a myriad of inflatables as well as lots of brilliantly organised stalls run by each class. We were lucky enough to have Kent Police join us too, including showing the children some fingerprinng! This culminated in a fundraising total for the day of £5,434. We have been fortunate to have a number of parents’ employers that were able to matchfund at various events throughout the year again, raising £4,189. This is such an easy fundraiser, so please do check with your employers to see if they will matchfund. For the first year, the PTA ran a Rainbow Hamper raffle in the run-up to Christmas, with each year group contribung different coloured hamper donaons. The total raised was a brilliant £2,378. Our annual cake and ice lolly sales held during the summer term were very popular again, raising £1,767. For the first me in many years, the PTA hosted a school disco in July, which proved to be a big hit with the children; so much so it will be returning in 2025! As well as being a lot of fun, the school disco brought in funds of £1,763. The Fesve Film Night returned to Lady Boswell’s in December to get everyone in the Christmas spirit and raised £1,379. Another return was Break The Rules Day which is always a crowd-pleaser amongst the children and raised £1,053. The second-hand uniform sales were very popular and raised a further £1,038. Mother’s Day (£961) and Father’s Day (£866) were celebrated with colourful primroses and socks, respecvely, with the children choosing for their loved ones. Christmas cards designed by the children were well-received, with sales totalling £736. Last, but not least, the Quiz Night returned in March, with a fish and chip supper as well as a bar provided by the PTA, raising £548. We also received donaons and grants totalling £545, plus contribuons from Easyfundraising (£267), Skins (£197) and My Nametags (£81).

Donaons to School: these accounts show the analysis of the £28,233 donaons to school in 2023-24 and many are pictured.

## **Co-Headteachers’ Thanks**

As our PTA publish their Report and Accounts for the year 2023 – 2024, we can all see the extraordinary total that they have, with your unerring support, raised. What an achievement!

The Committee may be small, but it is certainly pro-active and driven. Focussing on offering us, both adults and children, an exciting array of events, bringing us together as a community, they also succeed in raising very significant funds to support the School, with many important projects and upgrades. With well tried-andtested events, such as the Christmas Fair, Summer Fair, Summer Ball, Pop-Up shops, etc, they are always looking to add a new twist to make these events fresh and exciting.

As we sadly reiterate each year, school budgets continue to become tighter than ever, meaning that we simply are not able to fund many important upgrades and enhancements. This year, the hard work of the PTA, and your generous support, has allowed the School to continue to offer every year group an exciting curriculumlinked workshop to enhance the children’s learning. In addition, many resources, which would otherwise be out of our reach, have been purchased. These range from a class set of iPads and trolley, to a welly cupboard, to musical instruments and new gazebos. Please take a moment to look through this report to see the many items that the PTA have funded.

We are blessed to have such a creative Committee and the support of our families. Our heartfelt thanks to them and to you all. Please continue to offer your support with all the PTA initiatives to allow us to enhance your child’s time at School, and bring improvements to the School both today and for the future. If you are able to offer just a little bit of your time to help with any PTA events, please do get in touch with the Committee via ladyboswellspta@googlemail.com.

With the 350th anniversary of the School, next year promises to be a really exciting one and we know that our amazing PTA will have some involvement in our celebrations. Your support with this will be invaluable.

## **Matched Funding**

their employees. It is a very simple yet immensely valuable resource from which extra funding can be raised for our school. In most cases, the company will match pound for pound up to a maximum level per employee each year. We are fortunate to have parents at the school who work for companies that do matched funding including State Street Bank, Ernst & Young, Addleshaw Goddard, BMS Group and Visa. _**There are hundreds more companies offering matched funding so please contact your Human Resources department to find out if they operate a scheme**_ **and email us at ladyboswellspta@googlemail.com so that we can build a database and hopefully access this funding.**
