**- Review of the Year 2022 23**
## **The Commi�ee is pleased to report a fundraising total for the academic year of £35,673 and dona�ons to the school of £36,993.**
Fundraising: It was a record-breaking year of fundraising for the PTA! This was in part due to a substan�al amount received in matchfunding, totalling a staggering £6,003, as well as dona�ons & grants of £1,244. The academic year began with Happy’s Circus coming to Lady Boswell’s for the second year running; an entertaining day for all who a�ended and raising £2,645. Following this, the PTA sold fireworks �ckets on behalf of The Round Table, with a £266 profit. Christmas was another big fundraising period, with a contribu�on from Stonepi�s Farm for Christmas tree sales (£66), Christmas card sales (£646), Fes�ve Film Night (£1,222), Countdown to Christmas raffle (£3,908) and ending with a very successful ‘Star of Wonder’ Christmas Fair, raising £5,475. The new year began with another great evening at the Quiz Night (£1,142), followed by the Mother’s Day pop-up flower shop later in the term, raising £921. A�er Easter, the popular weekly cake sales returned (£2,029), and the King’s Corona�on was celebrated (icecream sales £312 and corona�on mug sales £217). The annual Break the Rules Day was held in May (£716), and another pop-up shop was held for Father’s Day (£1,027). The year ended with a brilliantly organised ‘Treasure Island’ Summer Fair, raising £5,012 and a Fun Run held in Knole Park (£831). Other fundraising included second hand uniform sales held throughout the year (£1,170), AmazonSmile & Easyfundraising (£691), Bags2School (£111) and the Big PTA raffle (£20).

## **PTA Structure, Governance and Objec�ves**
Lady Boswell’s Parent Teacher Associa�on is an associa�on of which all parents/carers of pupils and teaching and non-teaching staff of Lady Boswell’s Primary School are automa�cally members. It is governed by its revised cons�tu�on adopted on 3[rd] November 2023, which is based on the Parentkind model cons�tu�on. The Commi�ee is elected from the membership and for the period under review the following members made up the Commi�ee: Sharon Saunders (Chair), Helen Gush (Vice-Chair), Louise Mullen (Co-Treasurer), Rebecca Rushton (Co-Treasurer), Sarah O’Prey, Claire Leslie, Anneen Aucamp, Jill Bond, Erica Popplewell, Jemma Jackson, Celia McDonnell, Danielle Lau�er, Gemma Bailey and Gersande Coudyser. Gayle Co�on and Joanna David stepped down in January 2023. The objec�ve of Lady Boswell’s PTA is to advance the educa�on of the pupils of Lady Boswell’s C.E. Primary School by fundraising to provide ac�vi�es and facili�es (not normally provided by the Local Educa�on Authority). When planning our ac�vi�es for the year, the Commi�ee has considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
## **Co-Headteachers’ Thanks**
Every member of our School community benefits from the work of our extraordinary PTA, who have again this year, provided us with exciting family events and child-focussed fun. Beyond this, the funds raised by the PTA have allowed the School, with an ever-tightening budget, to offer your children facilities, resources and experiences that would otherwise not be open to them.
PTA funds have, again this year, enabled us to provide each year group with a curriculum enrichment day, together with wider-school events in Science Week and activities linked to our RSHE curriculum. These offer valuable learning experiences for your children.
In addition, provision of additional IT, music, sports and classroom equipment has made a tangible difference and benefitted children across every year group. This year, the installation of outdoor reading areas has been a particular success, offering children a comfortable spot for a quiet read.
We are grateful to you for your continued support of the PTA initiatives, and thank the Committee for their hard work and drive. The resultant profits clearly demonstrate their success and your generosity. ## **Get Involved!**

You do not need to be on the Commi�ee to get involved, you can offer to be a ‘Friend of the PTA’. Friends provide support for PTA events but they do not normally a�end Commi�ee mee�ngs (which take place once a term).

## **Matched Funding**
This is a fantas�c scheme whereby employers provide funding for charitable organisa�ons such as the PTA through their employees. It is a very simple yet immensely valuable resource from which extra funding can be raised for our school. In most cases, the company will match pound for pound up to a maximum level per employee each year. We are fortunate to have parents at the school who work for companies that do matched funding including State Street Bank, Ernst & Young, Addleshaw Goddard, BMS Group and Visa. _**There are hundreds more companies offering matched funding so please contact your Human Resources department to find out if they operate a scheme**_ **and email us at ladyboswellspta@googlemail.com so that we can build a database and hopefully access this funding.**

To date we have raised over £7.7k via www.easyfundraising.org.uk, an excellent FREE service where you can shop with your favourite online stores and at the same �me, at no cost to you, raise funds for Lady Boswell’s. There are over 7,000 brands on board ready to make a dona�on – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S. _**If you shop online and have not yet registered, please do so NOW – we are missing out on free money!**_ Register your cause as Lady Boswell’s School – Sevenoaks and _**upload the ‘Dona�on Reminder’ so you never miss a dona�on**_ .

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 / 08 / 2023.
**Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
**Independent** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have **examiner's statement** come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
