To provide pre-school learning and development to a highly effective standard.

To provide a pre-school learning experience for children aged 2 to 5, under the "Early Years Foundation Stage" according to OFSTED.

The trustees consider that they have complied with their duties to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission.

Additional details of objectives and activities

The Playgroup, as a charity, is run and operated by a committee of volunteers, in conjunction with an employed staff of qualified childcare specialists.

Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.

Pre-school has continued to work with the community of Escrick and surrounding villages to deliver a high quality childcare provision. It has organised small fundraising events for pre-school provisions . Our highly regarded pre school has run 360+ morning, afternoon and full day sessions throughout the academic year, caring for 2 to 5 year old children from the surrounding community.

The pre-school made a loss of £2,634 this year. This was due to fewer children at the beginning of the term due to covid affecting the number of 2 year olds joining the year before.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
