Organisers Report AGM February 12[th] 2024 for Year 2023

Last year was a really good year with no closures, the first in a couple of years. Our club is growing from strength to strength.

End of year we had 33 members and 22 helpers. Sadly we lost several of our long term members all who supported honeypot during their time with us, Pat Wells, Ken Clifford, Barbara Weston, also Ruby Eagle, Stanley Ramsden. We all have very fond memories of our time together. Two members Jean and Thelma are no longer able to come. Three members are currently long term ill.

I would like to welcome all our new members and helpers especially Jayne, Anne and Karen, hope they enjoy their time with us. Thank you to all our helpers for everything they do, we really couldn’t run without you.

We continued to have our delicious meals from the Lamb inn followed by several portions of puddings, A Big thank you to Rose for all her hard working cooking for us.

I would like to thank The Baptist Church for all their help in setting up every week and all their kindness and support which means so much to us all. The addition of the new walk way to the toilets has made such a difference, creating a quiet space for anyone to relax and also somewhere for me to complete my paperwork. The kitchen is now a much safer space.

I would like to thank all the volunteers for everything they do for the club, we really couldn’t run without you. We have had some wonderful afternoons together, celebrated the Kings Coronation and had lots of singing, quizzes and games. I think we all look forward to seeing the I cream van again this year.

Our Christmas parties at The lamb and here went very well and I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. The Honeypot Christmas Tree was a great success displayed in St James Church as part of their Christmas Tree Festival. Afterwards displayed in the church ready for our Carole service which was a lovely way to celebrate together with the members of the church.

Thank you all for making Honeypot such a wonderful club.

Transport Report

We have had no issues with the bus, they do a fantastic job collecting and safely taking members home. Nicola needs a big thank you for all her hard work. Also a big thank you to all our drivers, what you do is so important ensuring that as many people as possible are able to attend honeypot.

Health and Safety Report

Thank you to Rachel and David for completing their first Aid courses. We have only had a few very mild incidences and thankfully no major. The new walk way has improved safety in the kitchen. Please could only 4 people be in the kitchen at any one time.
