Chairman’s Report
- Welcomed everyone to the 11[th] Norwich first AGM at the HQ as, the last two AGMs were on Zoom due to the pandemic, which was a little strange.

Group Scout Leaders Report

Firstly, welcome back to some sort of normality.
-
Thanks to all our leaders & young Leaders scouts for their continued support and hard work in delivering a full and active program week in & week out.
-
We have 3 young leaders Heather (beavers) Robyn (cubs) & George (scouts), we also have a young helper Joel, in beavers working towards his Duke of Edinburgh’s Award from our scout section.
-
Thank you to our executive committee for their continued support and the continuing maintenance work on the HQ.
-
I would also like to thank the parents for their support and bringing their children down each week.
-
Plus, thank you to our district team for their ongoing support, not just with the 11[th] Norwich but for all the groups in our district.
-
Our biggest thanks, to who is now our ex-District Commissioner, Lisa Wright for her dedication and constant reminders to me to get things completed.
-
We have a new District Commissioner who is Paul Bean, Paul was previously Deputy District Commissioner in Ely.
-
There has been an increase in numbers across all sections this year with good regular attendance each week.
Beavers 82% Cubs 75% Scouts 81%

On our wanting to join list are: 2 Beavers 0 Cubs 1 Scouts

Ella Stern, occasional helper of beavers since 2017, has now become an assistant beaver leader from June 2021.

I would also like to welcome back Nick Williment-Hurst who was a scout and in the venture unit with the group many years ago and has now come back as an assistant scout leader after the unfortunate closure of his group in Loddon.
-
Congratulations to Charlotte Brock on gaining her Wood Beads and to Graham Don for 50 years of service in scouting.

Section Reports
Beaver Colony
-
Currently, we have 16 members in the colony.
-
Attended a water day activity with the district which it was great to see again that everyone was having fun since the pandemic.
-
Three beaver have received their bronze award.
-
During the summer of last year, we completed the T-rex trail and hoping to attend the mammoths this year.
-
Completed a litter pick at train wood and hoping to do another one this year.
-
Attended the Spixworth Pantomime which is always great fun.
-
All the beavers sent a letter to the Queen to congratulate her on platinum Jubilee for which we received a reply and is on our notice board for all to see.
-
Renewed our promise for St George’s Day.
-
Forthcoming events include a lady visiting on behalf of hearing dogs for the deaf and a camp on the 25[th] June for which I would like to thank the group for paying for the coach hire.
I would like to thank my young leaders and welcome Ella Stern to our leadership team.

Cub Section
2021

Currently, there are 14 cubs within the pack, 1 cub has moved up to the troop and we have gained 2 new members from the Beaver Colony.
-
It’s great to be back to normal after the Covid pandemic.
-
Unfortunately. we have lost a leader, Sophie Saunders, who left due to work commitment.
-
Since getting back to having weekly meetings, we had an investiture evening for 5 new members.
-
Had a drill night.
-
Hiked along the Marriott’s Way to Sloughbottom Park.
-
An emergency First Aid evening.
-
Enjoyed doing some backwoods cooking.
-
Had a sense evening.
-
A evening working on the athlete badge.
-
Annual fortnight kayaking on the river.
-
Our annual Halloween party.
-
A sparkler evening.
-
Had fun doing some potato printing.
-
Attendant the group’s carol service at St. Barnabas Church.
Cubs Section
2022
-
Kicked off the year by having a skills evening.
-
Had a campfire with a singsong.
-
Enjoyed making pancakes
-
Karl (SL) organized a prusiking activity, thanks Karl.
-
Marc (GSL) visited the pack to renew their Cub Scout Promise.
Forthcoming events are a sleepover at the HQ and attending the District Water Day Activity which are both in July.
I would like to finish by thanking Paula Grancourt, Robyn Tutt. Karl Ward and Marc for their support over the past year.

Troop

Over the past year, the troop has overcome the difficulties that had been thrown at us because of the pandemic.
-
We currently have 23 scouts, 6 leaders and a young leader.
-
Last Summer the scouts enjoyed a weeklong summer camp that my leaders managed to organize in 2 days after a last-minute completion of risk assessments by Decoy that allowed the camp to take place there.
-
We recently entered the district shooting and archery competition, which the scouts who took part enjoyed, despite it being the first time many of them had handled any bows and pistols before.
-
We have continued to make progress toward a 4-year rolling program that allows more scouts to complete their Gold Awards.
-
We will soon be attending the WAM weekend which we will once again be laying on gig rowing for the District.
I’d like to end by thanking all the scouts and their parents for understanding through a difficult time to program that was affected by various lockdowns and other restrictions and also, to the leadership team who have continued to put in many hours of work behind the scenes to make the events happen.
