The chartys trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144 of the Charities Act 20111.lhe Charities Arf,) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: Examine the accounts (under section 145 of the Charities Act). Follow the procedure laid down in the General Directions given by the Chanty Commission lunder $eetion 145{5} Ibl of the Charities Ad ). State whether particular matters have come lo my att8nlion. Basis 01 Independent Examinerfg Report My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charty Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accc)unting records kept by the charity and a t￿mpariSON of the accounts presented with those fecords. It also includes consideration of any unu$ual items or disclosures in the a￿)unt$,and seeking explanations from you as Iruslees concerning any $ueh matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be requifed in an audit, and tA)nsequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. Indopfrndent Exarnin?￿s Statement In ¢onnection with my examination. no material matters have come lo my attention which gives me cause to believe that in. any material respect.. {11 the accounting reeords were not kept in aceordance with section 130 of the Charities Act.. or 121 the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or 131 the accounts did not ¢omply with the applicable requirements concerning the fomi and ¢onlent of the ac¢ounls out in the Charities {Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 olhef than any requirement that the accounts give a 'lrue and faif view, which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper undeislanding of the ac¢ounls to be reached. Fundral•lng actlvltlo•: The majority of funding arises from fees and grants. However. the Trustèes arè grateful for thè assistance given in other fundraising activities in the year. Thèse include photo sales and raffles. Perfomunco: Whilst there is some ¢ompetition from other pre-school facilities the Trustees are confident that there will be a need for the full use of the nursery's facilities for the foreseeable future. The Tfustees are fully aware of the need to recruit and relain suitable qualified and motivated stsff and tske acbve steps to ensure job satisfaction. $￿tIon 4 Pollcl•$ •nd Flnanclal Revlew Roiorve8 pollcy: Trustees review the reserves held by the charity on a conlinuing basis, and in accordance with the commitments that have been given. The Trustees have overall responsibility for ensunng that the charity has appropriate systems of control, financial and otherwise. in place. They are also responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and which enable them to ensure that the financial ststemenls comply with the Charities Ad. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for tsking asonable steps to prevent and delect fraud or other irregularities. The Trustees have complied with the duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Commission in exercising their powers and duties.
