The names of charity trustees who manage the charity are:

Kylie Jones Chairperson Samantha Irwin Treasurer Tonia Rayner Secretary Stacy Blake Jayne Williams Verity Clark

We are governed by a Constitution and we are constituted by a trust. Our Trustee selection methods are by nomination and Seconded at our AGM.

We are run and managed by a dedicated group of voluntary Trustees.

We have an experienced, qualified and dedicated staff base. Our Manager holds a Foundation Degree and Deputy Level 4. Other staff qualifications include Early Years Educator Level 3, Thrive, Sendco Level 3, and Level 3 Forest School Leader

Staff training also includes Designated Safeguarding Lead, Paediatric First Aid, Food Safety, Health and Safety.

We have an intake of 2-5 year olds, and our curriculum is based on a child led play approach.

Our objectives and activities are Pre-school and ‘School Readiness’ Education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and Ofsted Guidance.

We continue to role out the “The Curiosity Approach” and this completely changed the way that we operate the setting. The benefits that this has brought to the setting as a whole are immeasurable.

We are based in the grounds of a primary school. We are open Monday to Thursday from 9am — 3pm for children aged 2 — 5 years and on Friday mornings 9am -12pm for children who will be attending school the following September.

Achievements and Performance this year

Our main achievement of this year is that despite ever increasing costs and underfunding we are still able to operate and have an extremely long waiting list.

Children’s fees are paid by families and the Government Early Years Entitlement.

The children enjoyed both exercise and dance sessions provided by external companies.

In March we took the older children to Drusillas, and a great day was had by all.

We invited families into the setting to celebrate both Mothers and Fathers day.

We held our annual sponsored Star jump. This event was enjoyed by all the children and raised much needed funds for the Pre-school.

We continued to take the children out again into our local community, which they thoroughly enjoy.

We had an amazing morning as we were lucky enough to havea visit from our local Firefighters and Fire engine.

For the first time since COVID we were able to perform our Christmas songs to the residents of Holdenhurst Retirement Village and it was a great success.

We held Christmas singing for the parents and had our annual Christmas party for all the children.

We took part in the first Heathfield Christmas Lighting event, which an excellent community event to embrace.

Our end of term celebrations for the Rising 5’s involved our annual party over in the school field, and again we hired an inflatable which the children really enjoyed.

Our aim for the coming year is to remain affordable and sustainable in this difficult climate.
