REPORT FOR THE YEAR END 30 JUNE 2024 The Trustees present their annual report on the affairs of the charity together with the financial statements and Independent Examinerfs Report for the year ended 30 June 2024. The financial statements comply with the current statutory requirements and with the Charity's governing documents. srRucfuRE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Governing Document The Trust is a registered charity and is operated in accordance with the Declaration of Trust made on 21st September 1993.
Recruitment and Appointment of Trustses All Trustees are members of the Rotary Club of Tarporley and appointment is based on the roles of elected officers of the Club, ie Treasurer, Secretsry, President and Immediate Past President. Organisational Structure The Trustees as eletted officers of the Club serve as members of the Club's Council in accordance with the Club's Byelaws and Constitutson. The Club holds an Annual General Meeting when officers/trustees are elected for the forthcoming Rotary year (l July to 30 June). The day to day operations and activities of the charity are delegated to the eletted Council. srATEMENT OF TRUSTEES. RESPONSIBILrrIES The Law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year, which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Trust and of receipts and payments of the Trust for that period. In preparing those financial statements the Trustees are required to: Selett suitsble accounting policies and then apply them consistently. Obserde the accounting methods and principles allowed in the Charities Act. Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent. Prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Trust will continue in business. The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records, which disclose with reasonable accuracy, the financial position of the Trust and to enable them to ensure that the accounts show a true and fair state of affairs and of receipts and payments. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Trust and hence for tsking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. Related Parties The Rotsry Club of Tarporley Charitsble Trust Fund works closely with the Rotsry Club of Tarporley. The Trusys objectives are closely aligned with the aims and objettives of the Rotary Club of Tarporley. OBJEcfIvES AND AcfIviTIES Objectives The aims of"The Trust Fund" continue to be the application of its fvnds for: The charitable purposes of Rotsry Foundation The benefit of other charitable institutions, societies and objects as the Rotsry Club of Tarporley shall in duly constituted meetings from time to time dirett.
Activities Trustees have had due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit. The charity aims to achieve its objectives in a number of ways. Fund Raising During the 2023124 Rotsry year The Rotary Club of Tarporley undertook a number of fundraising activities. These included: Organising The Tarporley Carnival Running the monthly Film Night Hosting the Tarporley Village Market Running the annual plant sale Organising the helmet and leather creche at Oulton Park Super Bike meetings Hosting a quiz night Conducting an out of date and surplus foreign currency collection Taking part in local villages Santa Float nights Developing the sponsor a child campaign for the ACE programme in Knysna, South Africa this included the running of a fundraising afternoon tea Charitable Donations The Trust makes donations to a range of local, regional, national and international charities including The Rotary Foundation. Donations are made to charities as a result of presentations to the Club and twice a year donations are made to a range of charities dependent on the funds available at the time. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE The 2023124 year was one of the most successful in the Trust's history with regards to funds raised and distributed to charitsble causes. This built on the success of the previous year. Financial Review Opening Balance 0110712023 £1,956 Closing Balance 3010612024 £5,437 We experienced an extremely challenging two financial years during the period of Covid restrictions, and our regular fundraising activities only partially recovered in our 21122 financial year. However, the last two years has seen our regular artivities return to pre-covid levels albeit in a time of financial uncertainty for many. We are acutely aware of the pressures faced by a number of charities as a result of the financial pressures faced by families which has impacted on the levels of charitable giving. A successful 2023 Tarporley Carnival and the Quiz Night for St Luke's Hospice as well as the Oulton Park, Santa Float and Plant Sale events, together with monies raised from the regular Film Nights and Country Markets and other attivities have
enabled us to make admirable charity donations this financial year of over £28,000. This will have supported over 30 charities across a range of Local, National and International causes. In addition, £1,800 in smaller individual amounts have been made to the 20 charities nominated by our speakers over the year. Building on our Global Grant work with the Knysna Education Trust the Club successfully recruited 45 sponsors for the ACE programme. ACCOUNTING POLICIES Basis of Accounting The financial ststements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis, an acceptable prattice for non-corporate charities whose gross income d5 not exceed £250,000. Income Income is accounted for when received. Expenditure Expenditure is accounted for when paid. Taxation The Trust is not considered liable to tsxation. Cash at bank Cash at bank includes cash Investments The Trust has no investments Unrestritted Funds Unrestricted funds are those where there are no externally imposed restrictions. They include those fvnds freely available to the Trust for expenditure or appropriation at a later date as donations, which are made at the discretion of the Trustees Restrirted Funds Restricted funds are funds which have bn given for a specific purpose - mainly grants. Endowment Funds The Trust has no endowment funds. b) d) h) TRusfEES No trustee received any remuneration from the Trust.
