Summary of the main The charity was inspected by Ofsted on 22/02/22 and was subsequently achievements aghast issued with an inadequate rating. This was due to a number of staffing and during the year management issues anda lack of appropriate training. This rating stopped all funding and prevented any new children from starting at the Pre-School.
KCC education representatives have worked with the Pre-School staff to implement the changes that were necessary as highlighted by the Ofsted report. Anew Manager was appointed on 13/06/22 and there have also been some other staff changes. The Pre-School team have been working hard to bring the offering back up to the required standards, instigating and adhering to and furthering the aims and objectives of the Pre-School
Learning Alliance. On 14/07/22 Ofsted returned for another inspection and issued the Pre-School with a good rating. Since the good rating was issued the Pre-School team have been actively advertising to try to increase the number of children in attendance.
This academic year the Pre-School returned to its pre Covid-19 hours and ran 5 three hour morning sessions per week and 3 three hour afternoon sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays including a lunch club to accommodate those children attending both morning and afternoon sessions on those days.
The income the Preschool had usually received from Fees & Lunch Clubs was greatly reduced due to a drop in children attending the setting, as was the case in the previous 2 years due to Covid-19. In addition to this the trustees of Eccles Pre-School had not run any fundraising events to raise money and this has resulted in a loss and our reserves are now lower than In previous years.
Our aim is to now increase the number of children attending the PreSchool and to rebuild our financial reserves.
Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves
|Eccles Pre-School aims to keep three months running costs in reserve at all times, however during this year it has been reduced to one months reserve. We will be working at increasing that reserve limit back up to three months during the next year.
