The Trustees present their report and financial statements for the year end 30[th] June 2023. Activities
The Trust was established to enable the Rotary Club of Sturminster Newton to elicit funds from the public for charitable purposes and to comply with and take advantage of current legislation.
Results
The net outgoing resources for the year amounted to £1,255, resulting in a decrease in the general reserves to £135,281. In addition to the traditional range of fund raising activities the Trust was also involved in:
Sturminster Newton Cheese Festival
The Trust is the lead organisation running this annual Festival, which promotes local produce by educating those attending in a range of areas of interest.
Strategy
The Trust seeks to raise funds to support local, national and international needs on a pro-active and reactive basis.
Reserves Policy
Funds are held to meet the existing plans and commitments of the Trust and also to be in a position to respond to unexpected demands as they arise over the forthcoming year.
Investment Policy
Funds are invested in interest bearing accounts to provide the optimum balance between accessibility and return, without any compromise regarding security.
Risk Review
The Trustees have conducted their own review of the major risks to which the Charity is exposed and systems have been established to mitigate those risks. These procedures are periodically reviewed to ensure that they still meet the needs of the Charity.
This report has been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice – Accountancy and Reporting by Charities.
