The Trustees present their report and financial statements for the year end 30[th] June 2022. **Activities**

The Trust was established to enable the Rotary Club of Sturminster Newton to elicit funds from the public for charitable purposes and to comply with and take advantage of current legislation.

## **Results**

The net incoming resources for the year amounted to £765, and £12,154 has been used on restricted projects resulting in a decrease of £11,389 to the general reserves which now stand at £117,008. In addition to the traditional range of fund raising activities the Trust was also involved in:

## **Sturminster Newton Cheese Festival**

The Trust is the lead organisation running this annual Festival, which promotes local produce by educating those attending in a range of areas of interest.

## **Strategy**

The Trust seeks to raise funds to support local, national and international needs on a pro-active and reactive basis.

## **Reserves Policy**

Funds are held to meet the existing plans and commitments of the Trust and also to be in a position to respond to unexpected demands as they arise over the forthcoming year.

## **Investment Policy**

Funds are invested in interest bearing accounts to provide the optimum balance between accessibility and return, without any compromise regarding security.

## **Risk Review**

The Trustees have conducted their own review of the major risks to which the Charity is exposed and systems have been established to mitigate those risks. These procedures are periodically reviewed to ensure that they still meet the needs of the Charity.

This report has been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice – Accountancy and Reporting by Charities.

Approved by the Trustees on 14th February 2023 and signed on their behalf by:

## **ROTARY CLUB OF STURMINSTER NEWTON TRUST FUND Independent Examiner’s report to the Trustees of the Rotary Club of Sturminster Newton Trust Fund**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30[th] June 2022.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

The Trustees consider that the audit requirements of Section 144 of the Charities Act do not apply and that an independent examination is required.

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts under Section145 of the Act, and in carrying out my examination I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section145 (5)(b) of the Act.

## I **ndependent Examiner’s Statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that, in any material respect:

 accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act or

 the accounts do not accord with the accounting records.

I have no concerns, and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
