The Playgroup’s primary objective is to support the development of children, ensuring they are well-prepared for the next stages of their education, while also benefiting the wider community.
Key Activities:
1. Early Childhood Education and Care:

2. Inclusive Access to Services:
- We ensure our services are accessible to children from all backgrounds, including those with special educational needs and from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds. We provide a supportive environment where all children are treated with respect and given equal opportunities to participate in activities.
3. Parent and Carer Support:
- The Playgroup fosters a strong relationship with parents and carers, offering regular communication through meetings, newsletters, and parent consultation sessions. This strengthens the partnership between the Playgroup and the families, ensuring holistic support for the children’s growth and development.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Summary of Main Activities Undertaken for the Public Benefit by St. Dunstan's Honeybees Playgroup – Including Storm Damage and Fundraising Efforts
In the year under review, St. Dunstan's Honeybees Playgroup has continued to deliver early childhood education and development services to young children, while also addressing significant challenges brought on by recent storm damage. Despite these setbacks, the Playgroup has remained dedicated to supporting children, families, and the wider community, ensuring our services remain accessible and sustainable. Key Activities: Early Childhood Education and Care:
The core mission of St. Dunstan’s Honeybees Playgroup remains focused on delivering a high standard of early childhood education. Activities continue to encourage cognitive, social, and physical development through structured play, outdoor learning, and creative expression. These sessions are designed to support children’s readiness for primary school while promoting their overall well-being. Storm Damage Response and Recovery:
The Playgroup’s premises were significantly impacted by a severe storm, resulting in damage to the building structure and essential facilities. This disruption posed a challenge to our ability to offer services as usual. In response, we initiated a comprehensive recovery plan to restore the Playgroup to a safe, functional state. Emergency repairs were carried out promptly to ensure the safety of the children and staff. Despite this, the damage caused additional operational costs, which created financial pressures on the Playgroup’s resources. Fundraising for Storm Recovery: In light of the storm damage, St. Dunstan's Honeybees Playgroup launched a fundraising campaign to help cover the costs of repairs and to ensure continued provision of our services without compromising the quality of care for the children. The fundraising efforts included a combination of online crowdfunding, local charity events, and appeals to local businesses and the community for donations. We are grateful for the overwhelming support from parents, local residents, and organizations, which allowed us to raise vital funds to support the restoration and improve the Playgroup’s facilities. Additionally, we received a number of small grants from charitable foundations that were instrumental in helping us meet our financial goals. Ongoing Community Engagement: Throughout the recovery period, we ensured that communication with families and the wider community remained transparent and consistent. Regular updates about the repair process, fundraising events, and how the community could contribute were shared through newsletters, social media, and parent meetings.
